Hours felt like years to Mike as he remained crammed into the lavatory with the flight attendant and the other man, who were named Yuki and Darryl consecutively. Like Mike, Yuki and Darryl were eager to get out. Darryl, the bigger risk taker, would occasionally peek out of the lavatory and immediately go back in when he heard the roar of incoming infected.
"Dude! Stop doing that!" Mike hissed at Darryl after he did it for around the 10th time, he had lost track. He was becoming increasingly positive that Darryl had caused the deaths of the last people with him.
"J-just checkin' if th' coast is clear." Darryl said, rolling his eyes. Following by Mike rolling his eyes back.
"Even if the Coast was clear, then what? We can't go anywhere, the zombies are everywhere in this plane."
"Guys, shut up!" Yuki hissed. "They can hear you, remember?"
Then the plane intercom returned to life as the pilot's voice began to be heard all around the aircraft. Followed by the howls of the infected, appearingly irritated by the noise. However, no footsteps were heard, as it seemed like they were confused to the origin of the noise as it completely surrounded them.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We are now approaching our landing in Dubai. We are unable to communicate with the tower at Dubai International Airport due to the EMT from the nuclear blast we encountered earlier, but it is assured that it is safe there. So please take your seats and move them to an upright position as we prepare for landing.
"Fuck." Yuki muttered. "They're gonna be rescued, but we'll just be stuck here."
"Maybe we can get over there again." Mike said. "We have toilet paper in here as well, we can lure the zombies away-"
"Yeah, but lure them where? We're in th' back of the plane, idiot." Darryl interrupted.
Then, Yuki's face lit up.
"Thats it!" Yuki exclaimed joyfully, a bit too joyfully as some infected began banging on the door. Once it gave up, Yuki began to explain himself.
"We can sneak through the cargo hold, into the area where the others are. However, we should wait until after the plane lands, because it is unsafe to be down there while the plane is in the air."
Mike and Darryl nod, his plan sounded crazy in Mike's opinion, but Yuki was the flight attendant, so he knew where everything on the plane was, so he trusted him.____________
Jack sat Aiden on his lap as he felt the plane begin to land, everywhere people were eagerly talking about how they were going to be safe. However, Jack was uneasy due to the red text under the airport on the safe zone list. He didn't read it, but he knew it wasn't good. However, he wasn't ready to stir up trouble, besides, what if he was wrong? And the airport was perfectly fine? Maybe it was safe to just check the airport first, maybe there were other people there they would help, and even more, they could gather some food from the stores so they won't have to ration out the breakfast food anymore.
"Jack?" Aiden asked, causing Jack to snap out of his thoughts. "Are you okay? You seem nervous." Aiden remarked calmly."I-I'm fine." Jack said as he felt the plane shake as it prepared for landing. Passengers scrambled for the suitcase forts to prevent if from collapsing during landing.
"We're going to be safe, right?"
Jack turned around and noticed the skyline of Dubai, including the gargantuan Burj Khalifa. Something just seemed off about the way the buildings looked, he swear he could see shattered windows. Perhaps downtown Dubai was overrun, but maybe the airport was safe still.
All the questions would be answered in a few minutes as the plane landed on the ground with a jolt.
