Naeun waited sitting in a table in one of her parents' coffee shops for them. She could finally see them and that made her nervous and excited. The last time she saw them they had just come back from their vacation. It had been a month already. . . . They were going to have lunch together to celebrate Naeun's birthday, which was that day.
Minseok approached her and placed infront of her a cup of green tea. She looked up at him and smiled. She wished he could sit with her and talk while she waited for her parents, but if they walked in and saw him sitting down instead of working, it wouldn't be good for him.
"I recieved your birthday invitation," he commented.
Yes. Eunji had called him to invite him and, of course, he accepted.
"Yeah? That's great! You don't have to work at night so you have no excuse for not coming," she replied and he chuckled.
"Of course I'm going!" He looked at her in a sweet way. "Aigoo. You're getting old." He messed her hair.
"Minseok-ah, why are you messing my daughter's hair?" A deep manly voice made them stop laughing and turn around and see whose voice was it. Her dad. Both Naeun's parents had arrived.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Son," Minseok bowed twice. "Anneyonghaseyo, Mrs. Son. Welcome back," he told them with a lot of respect. Naeun stood up to greet her parents and they smiled big.
"Happy birthday, sweety," her mom told her as she hugged her tight.
"Thank you, mom." She replied feeling her eyes watering. She had missed them a lot.
"Happy birthday, my love." Her dad hugged her and kissed her head. They sat down and Minseok was ready to get their orders.
"I want an americano," Mrs Son said with a bright smile.
"The same," Mr Son said and Minseok nodded, finishing writing everything. He bowed and walked away. "We brought you gifts." Her dad put in the table a big bag and her mom a small box.
"You did not have to. Thank you." She smiled at them.
"Open them," her mom asked her. She started with the bag and inside was a nice summer dress from a very known Japanese designer. She loved it. She opened the box and found a small white gold bracelet with the letter S on it. "The S stands for Son." Both her parents showed her their left wrist and showed her they had the same bracelet. Her eyes watered as she felt touched by it. It was beautiful.
"Thank you so much," she told them as she stood up to hug them. "I love it." She kissed their cheeks and sat back in her seat. Minseok brought the adults' drinks and retired inmediately.
"How have you been? How is college going?" Her mom asked before taking a drink of her americano.
"It's going fine. A lot of works and such. . . ." She let out a sight.
"We can't wait to see you graduating," her dad said, with a big smile on his face.
"Me either. I'm excited," she replied.
"How are your friends?" Her mom asked.
"They're good. Eunji and Jongin are happy together. Baekhyun is Baekhyun so he's always happy, more now that he's dating someone. Sehun is very focused on his studies lately and. . , Chanyeol is fine." She smiled and drank from her tea.
"Is he still dating the Japanese girl?" Yes. Naeun had told her mother that Chanyeol was dating another girl. She even knew that she liked him but nothing more. She hadn't told her about his confession, nor what Sehun did. . . .
"No. Not anymore," she replied with a big smile appearing on her face.
"Well, maybe now he develops feelings for you," her dad told her with a smirk, making her laugh.
