I see the word family, so chances are, from experience with both Vic's and Kellin's parents, as well as my own, this isn't going to go well and there is probably gonna be some yelling but I'm not sure...
~Family~
I looked up from Kellin's comatose figure when I heard the footsteps right outside the door and found the door opening to find Mr. and Mrs. Bostwick walk in with Kaylee on their heels. For the longest time after Kellin had been taken they were all so pissed at me. Lisa blamed me for Kellin's kidnapping and I didn't blame her, I blamed myself. How could I have let that happen? How could I have been stupid that I just left Kellin at home when I knew there was a possibility that he could have gotten hurt?
His family didn't know who took Kellin, they didn't understand why but thankfully Curtis had helped me out while I was on a rampage looking for Kellin and told them it was an enemy of mine.
Which just pissed them off even more. They hadn't forgiven me until just recently, they were under the same belief as my parents that I just worked for an official in office. So they knew I had enemies but not to such a degree.
"Hey Sweetie," Lisa said walking towards me and gave me a tight hug. "Any changes?"
I shook my head and hugged her back carefully, the hug was uncomfortable, of course. I'm not one to be touched by people but if it was Kellin's family who wanted him to get better just as much as me than I'd just accept it and go on.
Lisa pulled away and I gave her a sad smile, "He's just the same as before. Doctors say that there's brain activity, he just won't wake up."
"One of them said something about taking him o- taking him off of life support," Kaylee said, her eyes watering slightly as her chest rose and fell quickly and I shook my head.
"I'm not going to let that happen, if they don't want to keep Kellin here than I will arrange for a hospice setup at my home for him. You all lost Kellin once and I'm not going to let you lose him again, I'm not going to lose him." I said quietly and took Kellin's limp hand, squeezing it slightly.
"That's good, that's good." Lisa murmured and slowly sat down in the chair on the opposite side of Kellin as did Kaylee and Robert.
"How are you doing Vic?" Mr. Bostwick asked and I forced a smile.
"I don't really know," I admitted. "I miss him so much it kind of hurts to breathe at times. I miss hearing his little giggle and how when I'm doing something that irritates him he'd slap my shoulder and tell me to shut up. I miss his voice and the way he'd make me talk to the baby sometimes and just-"
"We get it dear," Lisa said softly and leaned over to place her hand over mine, the one that was holding Kellin's hand. "He'll wake up though, he has to wake up soon."
"Son, go get a cup of coffee, you need one." Robert said clapping a hand on my shoulder. I shook my head, "No go get some coffee and something to eat Mr. Fuentes, we'll let you know if anything changes with Kellin while you're gone."
"I'll go with you," Kaylee said and grabbed my arm, pulling me up.
"Alright, fine." I mumbled and moved away from her and pressed a kiss to Kellin's forehead. "Love you Kitten, I'll be back soon."
"That's still so adorable," Lisa cooed as Kay pulled me out of the room.
"I should be in there with Kellin," I said as she pulled me to the nurse's station.
"Well that's not happening right now, besides there are a few people here for you."
I frowned and furrowed my eyebrows, "Who'd be here for me?
"You're family, they're in the waiting room. They wanted to come on back but I told them that Kellin's room is tiny- which is a lie since you've made sure he had the biggest room in the hospital but yeah I thought you'd like to talk to them in private." She said, "By the way- you're little brother is a cutie."
I rolled my eyes, "Oh god, Kay just go back to the room and keep an eye on Kellin for me." I said and kissed her cheek before I went on to the waiting room where, much to my surprise sat Mike and, my parents.
I shoved my hands into my pockets and leaned against the wall.
"What are you three doing here?"
"This doesn't look like Washington D.C.," my father remarked and I rolled my eyes.
"Really? Wow I didn't know southern California wasn't DC." I said sarcastically, "What are you doing here?"
"Well we were on vacation and we heard about what happened to your li-"
"I wanted to see you and Ma and Dad just came along." Mike said interrupting our mother. "What happened to Kellin? Why didn't you tell us that he was in a coma for over a year?"
I shrugged, "Three strangers didn't need to know about my personal life."
"We're not strangers Vic, you're my brother!"
I sighed, "By law I'm not related to any of you."
After my parents disowned me I did the same, completely removing their names off of my birth certificate, I did it all. I wanted nothing to do with them, just like they wanted nothing to do with me.
"By blood you're my brother now come on, talk to me, tell me what happened to Kellin!"
I glared at him, tempted to turn on my heel and just leave him and my parents standing there but, Kellin would get pissed at me if I did that.
I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose before I looked back up at him, "He's in a coma. He's been in one for over a year now after he got kidnapped by someone who wanted to get revenge on me for the government-"
"See this is what happens when you work for a goddamn liberal." My dad said and I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, yes I know." I said with yet another eye roll. "Now, if you don't mind, my boyfriend is in a coma and I need to get back to him. So, do you need anything else or may I go?"
My parents didn't say anything and I turned to leave when Mike spoke up.
"Let me come with you, Ma, Dad you guys can just go back home. I think I'm going to be moving in with Vic."
"You're going to be what?" All three of us demanded and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You're not moving in with your brother Michael! You know what he's like to live with! That's not safe."
"Oh wow Mother, thanks a lot." I muttered and just to piss her off, I looked at my little brother. "I never leave the hospital but you can move in if you'd like, I'll have my butler take you home later when he and the maid come to visit Kellin." I said and turned to go back to Kellin's room listening as Mike rushed up after me.
"You have a butler? And a maid?" He asked and I nodded.
"I have about fifty maids Mike, and Tony's my butler—I guess assistant may be a better word though."
"Really? That's so cool! I haven't seen Tone and Hime in forever dude!" He said excitedly and as much as I wanted to be annoyed with my younger brother, I couldn't be. He was my little brother and while I really wanted to hate him as much as I hated my parents I couldn't. I couldn't hate him, he was just this dorky kid.
I call him a kid even though he's a year younger than myself but I can't help it. Mike will always just be a kid to me.
"Well they're both fine, Tony has a girlfriend, she's actually one of my maids and Jaime is still an FBI agent." I told him just as we got to Kellin's hospital room. "Don't say a word in here. His family is in here and I usually just let them have this time with him."
Mike nodded and the two of us walked in just as Lisa was telling Kellin how her week had gone, I went over and kissed my kitten's forehead and sat back down, taking his hand in mine while they all spoke to him and Mike stood in the back saying nothing until they left. I leaned my head on Kellin's bed and let out a breath of air,
God he needed to wake up soon, I have no idea what the hell I'm even doing without him.
