~We're a Family~

I smiled as I stared through the nursery window at my sleeping daughter as Mike stood next to me.

"Wow," he whispered, shock lacing through his voice.

"I know, can you believe that of all people, I would be a father?" I asked as I signaled a nurse so that the two of us could go inside and get Ember. Kellin was still fast asleep from his pain meds and everyone but Mike and I had gone home. Claiming that they would come the next day to see her and Kellin. Kellin would be in the hospital for the next few days recovering and then we'd get to go home. Him, me and our little girl.

"No I really can't, I never expected any of this to happen really." He said as the nurse waved us in and the two of us stepped inside the nursery. I grabbed the hand sanitizer and cleaned my hands before I went over to my daughter's bed and picked her up carefully. She opened her eyes looking around slowly.

"She's so beautiful," I murmured, putting my finger to her cheek.

"You can definitely tell she has Mexican in her," Mike laughed. "Look at that head of brown hair."

I chuckled, "Yeah but she also has Kellin's nose. Mike, I'm a dad." I said, still not really used to the idea of being a father whatsoever.

"Yeah you are, and you're going to be a great one. I can tell just looking at you that you love this girl."

"I do, she's so innocent and adorable Mike there's nothing wrong with her whatsoever, she's just perfect." I said and kissed the top of her head as we carried my daughter out of the nursery, of course with the permission of the nurse. "I'm honestly terrified though. I've never been more scared of anything in my life." I admitted.

"Seriously? Why?"

I sighed and stopped walking, "I didn't exactly have the best upbringing. Sure, they did their best but even you know, Vivian and Victor hate me."

"They don't exactly hate-"

"Mike, they hate me." I deadpanned. "We both know that those people despise me and it's okay. But you and I both know that I'm not father material, I don't know what it's like to be really loved, except for by Kellin. I don't know how to even love anyone except for Kellin. There's a good chance that this little girl is never going to fully understand wh-"

"Vic shut up," Mike interrupted and if I wasn't holding Ember I probably would- I definitely would have punched him. "You're going to do fine, you act all cocky and heartless but just like that disappears when you're around Kellin, it's going to do the same with her. I can tell just by looking at you looking at her. She's your world and it's always going to be that way, I've seen that look on your face before. It's how you look at Kellin. She's going to be fine Vic, she has two dads who are crazy about her plus an Uncle who is going to spoil her rotten as well as a bunch of other people."

I smiled at him, "She's not just going to be fine, she's going to be amazing." I said and the two of us started walking once more. I glanced up at my brother and sighed, I'm probably going to regret saying this to him and he's probably going to expect me to say it more often but he deserves to hear it at least once from me. "I love you Mikey."

Mike stopped walking and blinked his eyes rapidly in shock for just a second before he started walking once again, "Damn you are getting soft."

"Whatever," I muttered just as we got to Kellin's hospital room.

"I'm going to head back home with the girls and Tone, I'll see you later alright?"

I nodded and bid him goodbye and stepped inside the room and smiled when I saw Kellin awake and glaring at the wall with his arms crossed.

"Darling, are you okay?" I asked walking inside and shut the door with my foot.

"No, I want my fucking daughter," he muttered, still not looking at me.

"Well, I don't know if you should be allowed to hold her," I said and lifted Ember so that she was close to my face. "What do you say Em? Should Daddy get to hold you or is he being a baby?" I cooed.

"Victor Vincent Fuentes! Give me my daughter!" Kellin whined and I shook my head, holding Ember close to my chest.

"No, she's mine and I'm not sharing her." I said playfully and walked to the small chair next to Kellin's bed. Kellin pushed his bottom lip out.

"Please? Vic I haven't gotten to hold her since she was born and that wasn't very long." He whined, I chuckled and kissed my daughter's cheek before I carefully hander her off to my kitten.

"Careful with her head Kitten," I murmured. Kellin nodded and held her little hand in his, gasping as she wrapped her hand around his finger.

"Hi baby, it's your Daddy," he cooed. I smiled at both of them and leaned back. "I love you so, so much Emmy. And so does your Papa."

I watched my husband interact with my daughter and let out a content little sigh, it was as though my life was finally coming together. Before Kellin my life was all about work and sex. Once he stepped into my life though, everything changed. I fell in love with a beautiful and innocent boy and went through things I never truly expected, felt things I never thought I would feel but because of it all I was given a baby girl who was my entire world.

"Viccy, she's so beautiful." Kellin said softly, rubbing Ember's cheek with the pad of his thumb, she instinctively moved her head to him, her mouth wide open.

"She's hungry," I stated and grabbed her little bottle and handed it to Kellin. He stuck the little rubber nipple into her mouth and smiled as she started sucking on her bottle.

"When can we go home?" He questioned.

"You get released in two days," I informed him.

"Good, who all have gotten to hold her aside from the nurses?"

"Me."

"Seriously?" He asked, "You didn't let anyone hold her?"

I shook my head, "I wasn't about to let anyone else hold her until you got the chance to bond with her. I thought it was only fair that her Daddy did first."

Kellin let out a little adorable giggle, "I'm a daddy."

"Yes you are Kitten," I said with a chuckle, it was still strange to hear him refer to himself as that but at the same time, it was cute.

"And you're a Papa."

"I'm her Papa," I confirmed and rested my hand on his leg, "And you know what else Kells?"

"What?" He asked looking up at me.

"We're a family."

A beautiful smile overtook his face, "We're a family."
