subin woke up in time to actually be able to eat breakfast. she got out of bed, wrapped a cardigan around her bare arms and looked at the sleeping boy in the other bed.
jaebum never had an expression on his cold face. his factual features were so shocking and angular and it, surprisingly, was a good look on him. when he was sleeping, however, the cold and distant boy looked so soft. subin didn't get it. he looked peaceful. nothing was touching him in a way he didn't like.
but, she had to wake him up.
"jaebum-ssi," she called out, wanting to wake him up with her voice instead of touching him. he didn't stir.
"jaebum," she said louder. she walked over to his bed, and he was still out cold.
reluctantly, subin reached forward and gave his shoulder a little smack. at least, she thought it was a little smack. but when he jumped at her touch, she knew that it wasn't as soft as she thought it was.
"what the fuck?" jaebum asked, automatically assuming his grumpy face as he peeled his eyes open.
"we need to get breakfast," subin simply said.
with a grunt, jaebum got out of bed. subin held back a gasp as the sheet fell off of his bare torso to expose a vast expanse of muscle. how did she not realize that he was shirtless this whole time?
"please tell me the cafeteria food isn't shit," he sighed, pulling out a shirt from his unpacked suitcase and lazily throwing it on his body.
subin shrugged, "don't really know. i've been here for awhile, you know. i kind of forgot what normal food tastes like."
as subin walked to the door, jaebum stared at her with sadness. what a sad life she lived.
"sucks to be you, huh," his mouth moved without him thinking. maybe he was the one with turrets instead of youngjae. snarky comments came naturally to him, and he couldn't help it.
subin gave him a little glare. "you know, i think you've got something wrong with you other than hyper sensitivity. there's a common disorder called being an asshole, and i think you might just be the poster child for it," she spat at him.
sorry, jaebum wanted to say. i just don't know how to act around you.
"you sure know how to wake a guy up," he changed the subject. he felt a bruise forming on the shoulder that subin hit.
"yeah," she said. "i can't really tell how hard i hit or push or pull. i was going to feel sorry for hurting you, but i don't think i will now."
"well luckily for you, i like the harshness."
subin gave him a weird look, "i really don't care to know what you're kinks are-"
"no! like, i'd prefer you to not be gentle, because subtle touches tend to set me off more than harsh ones. that's why i prefer tight clothing and heavy blankets," jaebum explained.
subin blinked as he talked. was... was he opening up?
