Chapter 14
Sasha’s POV
I’m so excited finally New Year's Eve; hope my guest will enjoy the surprise I’ve for them. Cecile and I are at my parent’s house getting ready for the celebration, I’m so happy that I managed to pursue her into staying longer here in the city with us and not go directly home to Greg, as she wanted to do in the first place. She gets noticeably better everyday that goes by and finally she has come to her senses and thinks that life will be better without Greg.
His verbal abuse had been worse than I had first imagined when she broke down at the cabin. You just don’t call your wife a slut or a whore and tell her that she’s not worthy to lick the dirt under your shoe sole because the dinner is not to your liking. I know I’m bias but Cecile is a good cook and how many full working wives’ makes dinner for their spouses every single day? It’s not nice to talk to anybody that way, and especially not the one you’re supposed to love.
But now we were getting ready to party, celebrate the New Year, my birthday and not at least Cecile’s decision to get herself liberated from an unhappy marriage. We where starting out the evening at a small restaurant eating a late dinner before I’m going to reveal the surprise I have in store for them. Wearing a more figure-hugging dress than I had ever worn before I felt great because I didn’t feel undressed and I was more than ready for a fun night with friends. Knee long black, figure-fitted silk dress that is asymmetrically cut at the top, silver colored high heels and clutch bag. Light smoky eyes in a brownish tone and a hint of red lipstick. I was more then ready to party.
Cecile had helped me with my makeup and my hair I kept loose down my back. Cecile looked like a million dollar babe, gorgeous as always. Her complexion had always a hint of summer glow to it, her dark brown hair floating in natural waves and her almond shaped eyes that are a warm light brown. And with her killer heels she got a good height too. She was wearing a deep red color straight-cup silk top with drawstring neckline and a pair of slim-fit, low-rise black leather trousers.
Dad drove us to the restaurant and we were arriving only a few minutes before my last guest popped inside the doors too. Around the big table were I and Cecile, Peter, Brian, Noah, Aurora, Christy, Troy, Gina and Carrie. Noah is a friend of Peter, but also a good friend of mine, Troy invited himself to tag along with Aurora, Gina and Carrie are friends from college. Carrie always got a little teased for her name, because of the TV-series Sex and the City. But it’s Gina that would much easier become a Carrie Bradshaw with her obsession for shoes and a thing for more mature men.
To my delight they all got along and we shared a wonderful dinner and the wine kept coming on the table. It actually looked like Troy and Carrie hit it off especially good. The spire of a rock star and little misses shy. Brian and Cecile seemed to be uncertain about how to behave towards each other in the beginning of the evening, but 10 points to a normally foul-mouthed Brian, he was actually behaving super nice. Really funny to see him trying to be a gentleman.
They sang for me and I just wanted to crawl under the table. The waiter even came with a cake with candles I had to blow out. So embarrassing!
When the deserts were almost consumed and the spirit was high I stood up to make my announcement that they didn’t know about except Aurora, maybe Troy and Christy knew too, but I was not sure.
“Hey, can I get everyone’s attention please! I’ve made special plans for us all after we’re finished eating here to night.” I look at each and every one to see I’ve gotten their attention. “Instead of going to the pub. We’re going to a popular nightclub that has a closed party tonight, the party is only for exclusive members and us. The cover charge is all ready taken care of so it’s important that you guys goes into the club together with me or Aurora, so you don’t have to pay to get in. If you get away from us by any reason your name is on the guest list, so you’ll be able to get into the club but then you have to pay the cc. anybody up for some clubbing?” I smile a genuinely happy smile at the group and they are all cheering.
