Prompt: You are always late, what on Earth are you doing all the time

This may have been one of the very few times where he wanted to tell someone where he went. Where he wanted to pull someone close and say exactly what he did to be late every damn time she came calling to him. Because despite her decades-old injury, she could still call him out on a crowded street, and he'd come running to her side for anything.

This woman, who had only been in his village for a few years, who was far more strange than anyone he had every seen, somehow had him wrapped around her little finger like he was a piece of broken, silver string.

"I was helping someone with their groceries." He murmured, though one of his hands carried a grocery bag filled with food, so it was a blatant lie.

"LIAR!" Came a scream from the far room.

"Shut up dobe!" Was the followed hiss, a heavy sigh of a third party, and laughter from a fourth.

Oh. She had company over. So much for the night to themselves.

"You have company." He said bluntly.

'Itachi, Sasuke, and Shishui surprised me a few hours ago with Naru, Sasuke said they had saved him from villagers, so I let them stay and keep Naru happy and company.' She signed, smiling sheepishly.

"Ah," He looked at the bag, then up to her with a smile from behind his mask. "Have room for one more?"
