*IMPORTANT A/N AT THE END!*

I do NOT do one shots by the way (on here), I am just making this one for her because she's my bestie that I've become so close to! (And it's her Christmas present.)

MERRY CHRISTMAS SARAH!<3

-----

"Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the lane, snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight-walking in a winter wonderland. Gone away is the blue bird, here to stay is the new bird; he sings a love song, while we stroll along-walking in a winter wonderland."

December 24, Christmas Eve. How could someone not be excited? I suppose, it's understandable for some. They may be away from family, friends, and loved ones on a day of family... but not me! I have all my friends, family, and my wonderful boyfriend, Luke. Everything is perfect! I'm so excited for this year's Christmas, it's going to be the best one I've ever had! (Of course that may be an exhilaration...)

Will he like my gift? What if he thinks it's lame? I mean, it's a small present and all but it has sentimental value, wouldn't that be good? It is the thought that counts...

My fingers twiddle with the end of the place mat as I sit at the kitchen table in my apartment. The smell of lavender air freshener fills my nose, making the cold day seem fresher. The sun, shining exceptionally bright on this winter's day, stretched it's rays through my small corner kitchen, making the white tiled floor and the marble counter shine.

It's days like today that can make one both nervous and excited, like me right now. Excited about seeing my boyfriend, and about Christmas; nervous about giving him my present. It's our first Christmas together, and I worry that I won't impress him. I mean, I'm sure all girls feel this way at one point, or another in their lives, but when their time comes, it's all about them. Don't get me wrong though, I am elated to give it to him, but it's just the nerves of him getting me some extravagant present while mine is a simple one although filled with a lot of love.

As my fingers work circles around the puffs of tied ends, the doorbell rings, taking me out of my trance. A smile spreads across my face before I get up to answer it.

"I have cookies!" The face behind the door shouts just as I open it. "Yes! My favourite!" I take the plate, my face looking down at them with the face of a crazed man as my hand pushes the door closed in a joking manner as if to close the door in Luke's face. He laughs as he stops it, coming inside. "You're only with me for my cookies, huh?" He chuckles, sliding his boots off. "Yeah, totally." I smiled, setting down the plate on the table and hugging Luke's cold jacket.

"Hey so, I have a question for you." Luke started to take off his jacket as I walked into the kitchen and motion if he wanted anything to eat or drink. He shook his head no so we went to go sit on the couches. He sat to my right as I draped my legs across his lap, leaning my back on the arm rest.

"What's up?" I smiled. He looked down, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. His gaze met mind before he began again, "so, I was thinking... well, maybe we could move in together? I mean, I think we're ready, no?"

My eyes almost popped right out of my skull, my hands starting to sweat and my brain buzzing. The sights around me became distracting. Why am I acting like this? I never get nervous around Luke! He's that person I can always be myself with, no nerves, no worries.

"N-no." My words were short and somewhat silent. It's as if something was holding my vocal cords together so that I wouldn't be able to answer. Luke cleared his throat, obviously very uncomfortable. "What?" His voice spoke up.
