Hey loves:D

I don't really have anything to say this time, but just to sit back and enjoy the chapter:D

Dixie's (P.O.V)

"Aren't you embarrassed to let others see how your mate is?" I asked Josh as he was looking everywhere nervously.

I waited for his answer, but he just ignored me and kept on looking at people around the ball. I rolled my eyes with annoyance, and copied his actions.

People were all dressed really formally looking all beautiful as ever. I didn't know that people were actually this beautiful other than the Sky pack members in the world.

What actually surprised me was that all the alphas were very young. They all looked in their thirties or twenties. But there still were some people who were old enough as alpha Willow.

The ladies looked all angelic in their fancy long dresses. They were all tightly attached to their mates’ sides proudly talking with people. They all were looking at each other with so much love that it almost pained me to death.

I looked down at myself and back to my mate. He wasn't even paying attention to me but was looking all anxious and very nervous.

I guess he was feeling ashamed of being seen by people with a paralyzed, ugly mate. I let out a sigh of boredom and looked at his face again.

"What's wrong?" I asked him nonchalantly.

He gazed my way with his mesmerizing brown eyes blowing my mind away.

"Nothing." He replied shrugging his shoulders.

"Then why are you so anxious?" I asked him with a careless expression. He looked down at his entwined fingers and let out a deep sigh.

"It's my first time coming here, and I don’t really know what to do." He sounded almost really scared. It wanted me to go and hug him and assure him that everything was going to be fine. But the behaviors that he was acting upon made it impossible.

"Didn't you come here last year? I thought all the alphas were invited to this ball every year." I asked him curiously.

He looked up from his fidgeting hands and gazed into my eyes. I didn’t have my glasses on tonight. It always helped me escape his intense gazes every time he looked at me, and tonight I had no chances of doing that.

Sheila and Nora insisted that I had to wear contacts to show people my ‘beautiful’ eyes.

I still don’t get what is so special about my eyes because Jenna always praised how lucky I was to have these eyes. I mean like come on, they are just the same as others.

“Last year you weren’t with me. So they found out that I was mateless and didn’t bother to send an invitation.” I nodded my head in understanding and looked the other way.

As I looked away, I saw many alphas had gathered around chatting very busily with each other.  I looked back at Josh and saw him staring at those alphas as well.

“Go and join those gentlemen over there.” I said and he immediately looked at me.

“What? Aren’t you supposed to show how strong and confident the Sky pack is?” I asked him chuckling. He straightened himself up and nodded his head with a crook smile forming on his lips.

“Your right. What’s the point of sitting here feeling all nervous? I should go and show the world how strong and powerful the Sky pack is.” He said rising up from his seat.

A small smile was tugging on my lips. I immediately hid it not wanting to show that his confidence act was really adorable.

He got up from his chair and started making his way toward the group. I couldn’t help but admire how charming he looked tonight with his black tux. The spikiness of his hair really hit his outfit making him look stronger and poise.
