"Okay class! Everyone to your seats." Dan's teacher said after the second bell rang. Dan rolled his eyes unconsciously. It was something he did a lot, sometimes for no reason at all.

Dan looked up to the front of the class and saw a kid he's never seen before. Evidently, he was a new student.

Dan's teacher introduced Philip Lester to the class.

"Tell us something about yourself, Philip." The teacher said, sitting in his chair to give Phil the spot light.

He thought for a bit then lightly said, "I like lions." That earned a few snickers and side murmurs from the class. Dan smirked.

The teacher waited for him to continue, then realized that was all. "Okay, Philip. I'll sit you..."

'Oh great, this is the part when the new guy gets seated with loser in the back' Dan thought in annoyance.

"Next to Zoe." On the contrary, Philip Lester sat across the room from him. Dan was revealed, not having to actually communicate with anyone new.

Dan sat through one boring lecture after another, not having a single conversation with anyone. I do not exaggerate when I say Dan had no friends. He made himself impossible to even communicate with, whether it was just by using earbuds or ignoring people.

At lunch time, Dan sat outside in the farest corner of the school. He pulled up his hoodie and plugged his earbuds into his ears. He turned on his guilty pleasure, One Direction. One Thing started playing and he cursed the song for being so relatable.

Dan had a vision of the best friend he wanted, and 'Something's gotta give now, 'cause I'm dying just to know your name. And I need you here with me now cause you got that one thing. Get out, get out, get out of my head and fall into my arms instead' was exactly what he thought everyday.

He started working on the drawings he started this morning. It started out as cat whiskers, then he started scribbling above them. It started to look like a mop of hair.

"What you drawing there, mate?" Said a booming voice from above him.

Dan was basically the punching bag of the school, the emo that had no friends. What bully couldn't resist that?

Dan didn't answer, knowing better than to provoke a bully. He closed his sketch book and proceeded to shove it back into his backpack.

"I asked you a question." Said the taller guy, Joshua Evans. He snatched the sketch book out of Dan's hand and opened it.

Josh was a mystery man, he moved to London only last year from America. No one knew anything about him.

It was quite pathetic, this kind of bullying coming from high school seniors. But everyone goes through their own shit, right?

Taking out his earbuds, Dan stood up in protest and attempted to take back the sketch book. There wasn't anything private, but he didn't want Josh to be satisfied with himself thinking he had the power to invade his privacy.

"Is Daniel getting mad?" Joshua mocked, shoving Daniel backwards.

"Give it back." Dan demand. He wasn't scared. He was used to this torment.

"C'mon Joshua, leave 'em alone." Catherine, Josh's girlfriend, said. "I'm bored babe."

"Fine Cat, whatever. I'll take these, though." Josh tore out some random pages then tossed the sketch book on the ground.
