Phil trudged into class the next morning. It was only his second day, and he didn't want to be there. But, he hasn't completely lost faith. He was simply worn out.

Looking up, he spotted Dan. That definitely cheered him up. He quickly walked to the back of the class and sat down next to him. Smiling, he waited for Dan to acknowledge him.

Dan sighed after Phil stared at him for a while. "What do you want Phil?" Dan asked, pushing the annoyed tone through as much as he could. But Phil didn't pick up on it.

"I'm kinda having a rough start at school. But good thing I have a friend like you." Phil said cheerfully.

"No, Phil. We're not friends." Dan said sourly.

"Are we still doing that hard to get thing?" Phil asked.

"Phil-" Dan stopped his sentence short. He had finally looked up from his notebook and scanned Phil. He was wearing annoyingly bright clothes. He noticed the bruises on his face, by chose to ignore it. But, his t-shirt caught Dan's eye. It was a Death Note shirt.

"You watch Death Note?" Dan questioned slowly.

"Of course! It's my favorite anime!" Phil exclaimed.

"Your favorite anime? As in- you watch anime, not just Death Note?"

"Yes Dan." Phil laughed. "Do you watch anime? What's your favorite?"

"Wait- you're not just fucking with me?" Dan asked. He was in disbelief.

"Why would I be?"

"Huh." Dan laughed, leaning back and crossing his arms. "I have something in common with the infamous Phil Lester."

"Infamous? What'd I do wrong?" Phil asked.

Dan snickered. "Nothing." He mumbled, officially over the conversation. He dug into his pockets for his earbuds. Phil was mesmerized by his mysteriousness.

Dan plugged his earbuds in his ears. Although he didn't completely loath Phil anymore (the power of anime), he still wasn't entirely for being his friend. Friendships never work out, and he wants nothing to do with one.

Still though, he left the volume low in order to hear Phil if he spoke, but on the downlow.
