After 8 minutes of Phil talking Dan's ear off and Dan secretly enjoying it, class started. Of course, Dan thought Phil would take that as his cue to leave. He didn't.

"Um... are you gonna go now?" Dan asked.

"Go where?" Phil cluelessly asked as he unpacked his backpack.

"Uh anywhere but here? Literally anywhere." Dan said

"Nope. I'm all good here. Thanks."

"Phil can you even see from the back? Most people can't see from the back."

"I got my contacts in mate I'm all good."

"Please, Phil. Leave."

"No, Dan."

Dan liked Phil's persistence, although it annoyed him at the moment.

So, Phil was Dan's seat mate. Dan had mixed feelings. He hated how much this boy was growing on him. At the same time, he didn't seem like he was out to hurt him.

Dan scolded himself from thinking like that. Obviously, he didn't seem like he wanted to hurt him. But, no ones who they say there are. Opening up to the boy would be the last thing that would happen.

Phil desperately didn't want to take the bus again. He decided to walk home, no matter how far. He barely knew the way but he could wing it.

Before he even got off of campus, he saw the one person he was avoiding- David. He jogged up to him after catching his eye.

"Hey, you walking home?" He asked.

"I-uh- mmhm. Yup I'm walking" Phil sputtered.

"Me too. I'll go with you." David said. He walked alongside Phil for a while without saying anything.

"Sorry bout that." David said after a while.

"About what?" Phil asked innocently.

"You know... hitting you. I was having a bad day. I needed to get my anger out. Of course, the new kid'll be my victim."

"It's okay." Phil said with a small laugh.

After this, they didn't walk in silence. They talked and talked, and they laughed. Phil was actually having fun.

"Yeah, maybe we can hang out later?" David said as they walked up his street.

"Sure! Sounds fun." Phil said. He was ecstatic.

"Here's my number." David said. He pulled out a sharpie and wrote his number down on Phil's arm.

"Here's my house. See yah around man." David said as walked his a driveway.

"Yeah! I'll see yah.. dude! Okay bro! Bye! See you later alligator!" Phil smiled as he over did his goodbye.

'I knew it. I knew chances are worth it.' Phil thought. He was grateful that he didn't give up on people.
