Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and here's my list of what I'm thankful for:
1. Not dead yet
2. Work transition went well
3. Won't need chemo in January?!?
4. Christmas is coming
5. If I'm living on borrowed time, at least its during my favorite time of the year
6. Selfish gratitude - many people succumb to their illness. I haven't. I'm still here.
7. I haven't had an emotional breakdown yet. I shove one aside every day. I haven't dealt with the emotions of "IT'S CANCER!" and I haven't lost it yet.
8. My family, for taking care of me, for everything they've sacrificed for me to prolong my life
9. Lack of side effects, the ability to continue functioning in a semi-normal way
10. Being able to go to church the last few weeks. I still feel like a stranger there but at least I'm a welcome stranger
11. My faithful friends for being at my side, for support even from a distance
12. I'm thankful for God, for his daily miracles, for letting me stay here, for lessening my symptoms, for the promise of healing in the future...
