Tyler's POV (Point Of View)
I finished reading the text Maddyy had sent me. I had been texting and calling her all week. She was good at avoiding people when she wanted to, the only time I had seen her this week was during class.
“SHE’S ALIVE!” Cody busted in my room.
I rolled my eyes, “No shit. Don’t talk like that either.”
“Ty, why are you so interested in her anyways. She’s hot, great personality and everything but why the sudden urge to date or want to date her?”
I just continued looking out my window. Honestly I didn’t know what to tell him. I didn’t know why I liked her, maybe it was the fact that she was innocent and didn’t know anything about the double life I led.
“Ty?” Cody said again.
“I don’t know man. She’s just so innocent.” I said honestly.
I just hope I didn’t ruin everything between us by slamming her against that wall at school Monday. It’s not like I meant to, I was so stressed out because Boss wants me to talk to her about joining and I refused.
“She’s just too innocent.” I whispered.
“Sure,” I heard Cody mumble.
I didn’t even have time to ask him what he meant before the guys busted into my room. They were all laughing about something.
“What are we doing tonight?” Chris and Scott asked at the same time.
“What’s up with you and Maddyy now-a-days?” asked Roger.
“I have business to talk with the Boss about. By the way Maddyy and I aren’t anyone’s business so don’t ask ….” I was about to say some other stuff to that, but my phone started ringing form it’s place on my desk.
I ran over and answered it as fast as I could, “Hello!”
“I’m in your office. Hurry up!”
I looked back to the guys and told them what was happening. They didn’t make any move to leave so I walked out leaving them to talk about whatever until I got back with the plans for the night.
---
I walked at a fast pace to my office not wanting to make him wait longer then necessary.
“I’m here Boss.” I said while going to sit behind my desk.
“Good. How are things going within’ your group?”
“Better than ever Boss. More sells and recruits.”
“And the girl?” he asked.
“I already told you, she knows nothing about us.” I said frustrated.
“I guess since she knows nothing as long as we keep it that way until we know her better she’ll be fine. Or at least living.” He chuckled at his own sick joke.
“Mhhmmmm.”
“Last question before I tell you about everything we need done over the next two weeks. Have you been able to locate the best seller in the state yet?”
I put my head down, “Not yet. It’s like every time we get close to locating him he disappears. No trace to be found, he doesn’t even leave behind any clues.”
Boss answered calmly, “Damn. We need him he is good at what he does. Anyways I need people to pick up shipments, sell at our regular spots, try to get more recruits, recruit people and try to get more customers. Now I must be going. One last thing though, I need you to do more research on this guy. He has to leave behind clues somewhere. Everyone messes up once.”
“You got it Boss.”
He turned around to look at me before leaving. I took in his features, I saw most of them everyday that I looked into the mirror, “Your mother would like you to visit every once in a while as well. I would too.” I just glanced at the paper work on my desk. “I love you son.”
“Love you too Dad,” I whispered.
---
“Okay time to get your new assignments. You have to do this for the next two weeks and you better do a good job,” I said looking at the guys in front of me. “Ian and Thomas y’all are going to find and recruit new people.” They nodded their heads and went out the door to get to work. “Chris and Roger you’re going to be selling and finding new customers. Scott you stay behind for a minute so I can tell you more about your job.”
I waited for Chris and Roger to leave the room. After they left I went over to the door, shutting and locking it I turned back to Scott who was sitting on the couch without a worry in the world.
“What’s up Boss?” he asked.
“I have a special job for you. Crips has a good seller and no matter what I do I can’t seem to figure out who it is.”
He chuckled, “And you expect me to figure out who he is?”
“Yes,” I said seriously. “You’re better at finding out information than anyone around even Cody.”
“What’s Cody’s job?”
“He is going to be keeping an eye on everyone and reporting it all back to me.”
Scott stood up to walk out, “I’ll do my best.”
He walked out shutting the door behind him. I sat back in my chair trying to think about how I was going to win Maddyy back. It would be a lot easier if we knew each other more.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I hit my alarm as I walked back in my room. Not being able to sleep last night I woke up extra early and took a shower hoping it would help me think of something special to do for Maddyy.
After a lot of think I made a few phone calls and went shopping. Hopefully tonight would be the perfect night for me to get to know her better. At least I hoped she liked it. I knew she was shy and everything, but what I planned would either bring her out of her shell or make her embarrassed.
Everything had to be perfect for her. I had finally made up my mind about what I wanted between us.
Tonight was the night I would ask her to be my girl. I couldn’t tell her the truth about me yet. I had to make her fall in love with me for her to understand and except that life.
