After Aria and Orange made it to Celadon, Orange hunted down and bought her Jigglypuff a microphone. Hmm, Orange thought while she was shopping, they sell evolutionary stones here. “Vee what do you think about evolving?”
“Vee vee!” it said excitedly.
Orange grinned, “it'll make you stronger.”
But what to evolve it into. Hmm... I want to beat Indigo and Green. Water is good against both fire and ground right? Not to mention a Vaporeon can learn surf! Perfect a water type!
“One Water Stone please,” she told the clerk.
“Right away Ms.” he said and grabbed a stone off the shelf behind him. She gave him the money and he gave her the stone. Her Eevee was so excited. As soon as Orange sat down on by the vending machines on the top floor it jumped on her lap. Then it snatched the blue stone and jumped down onto the floor. Vee then evolved.
She must really want to be stronger for me. Orange thought.
“Vaporeon!” it cried excitedly.
“Wow Vee! You look beautiful!” she declared.
“Ms!” a young boy shouted, gaining her attention.
“What is it?” Orange politely asked, acknowledging his existence.
“Could you please buy this Coin Case from me? My Papa lost all of our money at slots and my family really needs the money,” he pleaded with puppy dog eyes.
“What do I use a Coin Case for?” she asked.
“To use at the Game Coiner of course!”
“I'm not sure if I want to go gambling,” Orange stated flatly.
“But Ms. You can win Pokémon!” he begged with even bigger eyes.
Not the eyes! Not the eyes! I give up!
“Sure I will buy it from you,” Orange said. She swapped the money for the Coin Case.
“Thank you very much!” the young boy cheerily said and took his leave.
I guess I should go investigate this 'Game Corner'. Orange strolled out of the mall and spotted a man in all black. Why does that get up look so familiar? She inspected further and noticed a big red “R” on his shirt. Team Rocket? Here? Why would they be here? Trying not to draw attention to herself she hid in the nearest open business.
“Good afternoon! You can exchange your coins for prizes here,” a cheery business woman said behind the counter.
Forgetting all about the suspicious man outside, Orange became aware that she had reached her destination.
“I heard that you could swap coins for Pokémon here and I was wondering what kind of Pokemon were in stock,” she stated.
“Currently we have Abra, Scyther, Dratini, Porygon, and Clefairy.”
“Thank you for your assistance!” Orange delightedly said. She bought some coins and sat down to win at slots. She sat there for hours playing slots, her Jigglypuff and Vaporeon sitting next to her. She lost all of her original coins and had to go buy more but she soon got the hang of it. She was sidetracked when someone sat next to her.
“So I see you are here too.”
“Oh! Hello Green,” she said going back to her game. I won't be distracted now! After about an hour of playing she noticed her Pokémon were asleep and returned them to their Poké Balls. She looked over at Green. Holy cheese nips that's a lot of coins.
He must have noticed that she was looking over because he looked back.
“What are you aiming to get?” Green asked her, trying to strike up conversation.
“A Dratini,” she said. Her luck was going back down and she started to lose all of her winnings. “What are you trying to get?”
“A Porygon,” he said.
“Ugh! I lost again,” she said.
“I think I have plenty,” he said and got up. Orange watched as he went up to the counter and got his Pokémon.
Of course he got it already. She turned her attention back to the game and quickly lost everything. She sighed and stood up. I guess I'm not going to get my Dratini am I? She thought to her dismay. She left the Game Corner and sat by the fountain. “Lunch time!” Orange said. She let her Pokémon out and fed them.
“I guess you have slightly improved as a trainer,” Green said standing in front of her.
Did he just compliment me?
“Um...,” she paused looking up at him. “Thank you.”
He handed her a Poké Ball. She looked at it confused and then back to him. His back was turned to her.
“Eee!” some girl squealed. “Are you Green?” she asked running up to him.
Not waiting for him to answer the extremely high pitched girl, Orange hugged him from behind.
“Thank you Green,” she whispered into his ear. She let him go and collected her belongings.
“You're welcome,” he said, slightly smiling. Not that Orange could see, she was swiftly leaving the area because of all the death glares she was being given.
Almost a week later Orange met up with Indigo at Rock Tunnel to begin her training, or to put it correctly, begin her hell.
