We decided to head back to the apartment. Cassie said she got home to see what we were up to. I just hope she hasn't told anyone he's here. I pushed opened the door and walked in to see Cassie in a tight burgundy dress.
" umm...," I spoke as I threw Shawn's bags on the couch. Some gentleman he is.
" we are going to a party tonight," she replied with a smirk.
" no we are not," I responded and grabbed my skateboard. Shawn grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to face Cassie.
" why not?," she asked with that stupid smirk stuck to her face.
" I have work tomorrow," I said and finally managed to yank my wrist out of Shawn's grip.
" all you do is work. Live a little," she pushed. I rolled my eyes. Is she serious?
" Cassie. I'm a fricken nineteen year old who has to work to just feed myself! I don't have parents to run back to when things get tough. I've been fending for myself for a year now! I can't loose this job just because I want to " live a little"," I finished quoting her words.
" you're right. I'm sorry," she said and rested her hand on the apartment door knob.
" don't wait up," she said and walked out of the door.
" god I'm so stupid!," I yelled forgetting I wasn't alone.
" you're not stupid. Just confused," he said and rested a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it of and turned to face him.
" how would you know? You know nothing about me," I spat and began walking up the stairs. He sighed and began following me.
" I know that, for some reason, you had to fend for yourself at eighteen," he said and pulled my wrist towards him making me almost fall down the stairs.
" Cassie's right though. You do need to live a little," he said as I glared at him.
" Shawn I- can't loose your job? I know," he interrupted.
" do you want to go to this party?," he asked. I thought it over for a while than nodded.
" than go. When you're hung over from tonight I'll take your shift," he suggested. I arched my eyebrows.
" and why would you do that?," I questioned.
" because I like helping people. You would know that if you bothered to get to know me," he remarked.
" alright. Since you're taking my shift tomorrow ,which I am only letting you because I want to go to this party and because it's a music store, I will do something you want to do in return," I proposed.
" I think you're just making up an excuse I spend time with me," he smirked. For the first time in a long time I laughed. For real.
" sure," I said sarcastically before pulling out my phone and calling Cassie.

Cassie picked out my dress ( picture on the top) and we walked down the stairs.
" don't wait up!," I called to Shawn as Cassie and I walked out of the apartment.

I pushed open the door and pulled Cassie in. I looked up to see Shawn sitting on the couch watching " How I Met Your Mother" which just so happens to be my favourite show.
" need help?," he asked and I nodded. He took Cassie out of my hands and lifted her onto the couch. I stumbled into the kitchen and reached for an Advil. Shawn handed me a glass of water. I nodded as a thank you and took it out of his hands.
" what happened?," he asked once I swallowed the remaining water in my mouth.
" she had a little too much to drink," I explained and he smiled.
" you need help getting up the stairs?," he asked and I shook my head.
" I'll be fine," I reassured and made my way to the stairs but tripped on my own feet and fell.
" yeah, you're perfect," Shawn spoke and picked me up to carry me upstairs. I wanted to protest. I really did but... I was really tired. He carried me into my room and laid me on the bed. I pulled the covers over myself and I looked at him.
" what time is it?," I asked. He pulled out his phone.
" 5:30," he replied. I smiled.
" you start work in five hours," I replied before I shut my eyes.
