Yuri yawned tiredly and tried to be as quiet as possible. Viktor had finally managed to fall asleep.
Looking over at the clock, Yuri could see the outline of it in the darkened room. It was almost three in the morning...
Sighing softly, the ravenette thought back to what had happened.

**Flashback to a few hours ago***
"Viktor? Viktor what's wrong?"
All of a sudden, the older male had doubled over in pain and sweat poured out onto his forehead.
Not knowing what else to do, Yuri pushed the button to notify the nurse.
She rushed in not too long after it was pressed and ran up to the bed.
"He was fine, but then all of a sudden...I don't know what happened!" The raven haired male was panicked and he didn't know what to do.
"The treatment is relapsing." "What does that even mean?" "It means that it's doing its job. It's finally came into contact with the cancer that has kept receding all this time. His body is trying to fight it off though, so that's why this is happening. I need permission to give him pain medication."
Yuri shook his head and looked at the nurse. "He's said that he doesn't want it, we should respect his wishes-" "He's only going to get worse, unless his body stops trying to fight off the treatment. This is what happens when you go for a long period of time without treatments. Your body isn't used to it and it instantly tries to fight off something that's alien to it."
Letting out a frustrated sigh, Yuri didn't know what to do. Things had been going so well...
"Mr. Katsuki?" "Do it. Give him the medication." His breathing became shaky and he reached out, holding onto the older male's hand. "I'm sorry..." Feeling his heart break, he felt like he had let him down, since he had to go against his wishes this time.
**Flashback ended**

The medication had taken almost over an hour to take effect though and only just moments ago, did the other male finally manage to sleep peacefully.
Letting out another small sigh, Yuri gently stroked the side of Viktor's cheek.
He had gotten so scared when it happened. What scared him the most was that he hadn't been able to do anything. No matter what he did, he still remained helpless in this situation.
Tears slipped down the ravenette's cheeks and he squeezed his eyes shut. "Please...I need him so badly....please....let him get better...I love him..." He whispered the words and reached up with his free hand, wiping the tears away.
More than ever now, Yuri needed to go out with Minako later. He needed to buy something, but he had to know Minako's opinion on it. That's why she had to go with him.
Leaning his head back against the wall, he continued to cradle his lover's head in his lap and kept their fingers intertwined.
Before he knew it, he had drifted off to sleep...

"Is everything alright?" Minako looked over at Yuri with a worried expression on her face.
The raven haired male knew that he looked horrible, but it wasn't too different from how he felt.
Before he had met up with Minako, he had gone to the washroom and his appearance surprised him.
There were dark bags under his eyes and they were also incredibly swollen from both lack of sleep and going through so many crying jags.
"We had a rough night..." Yuri yawned tiredly and walked up alongside the other.
"Are you sure you're up to this?" "I need to do it today...it...it can't wait any longer."

**Flashback to an hour ago**
"If anything happens, call this number immediately, okay?" "Don't worry dear, he's in good hands. Go do what you have to do."
The older nurse smiled at the boy and nodded. "I will phone you if anything comes up. The medication that was administered should last another couple of hours at least, since the dosage was pretty high."
"Thank you, I'll try to be back by then." "Take your time. Like I said, he's in good hands. We'll take good care of him, so don't worry. You need a change of scenery, dear." She gave him a warm smile and watched as he left.
In this kind of world, she was happy that love like that still existed. Unconditional love was hard to come by these days.
**Flashback ended**

Yuri stretched once they got off of the subway and he looked over at Minako. "Where is it again?" "You really don't leave the island much, do you?" "Th-that's not..." "It's just a couple blocks from the station." "Ah...I knew that..." Minako chuckled and shook her head. "I'm glad that you were finally able to leave there, even if it is just for a couple of hours. Being in a hospital for too long can mess with you."
As they walked down the street, Yuri took a few pictures along the way. He planned to show them to the other male when he got back. Maybe it would lighten his mood a bit. Yuri knew that Viktor was getting agitated about being in the hospital for so long. Hopefully he'd be able to get discharged soon and be able to stay back at the Inn.
"-uri...Yuri!" "Blinking a few times, the ravenette turned, looking in Minako's direction. "Huh?" "You were spacing out again!" "Oh, sorry...haha..." He reached up and scratched the back of his head nervously. "I've been calling you. We're here..."
Yuri looked up at the mall that stood in front of them and his mood instantly changed. "Let's go!" A smile fell onto his lips as he pulled Minako through the crowds of people and he stopped in front of a shop that was brightly lit up.
Minako's eyes widened when she seen what store they had stopped in front of. "Yuri...this is a..."
"I need you to help me choose two rings." The raven haired male let go of Minako's arm and looked at her. "I plan on proposing to Viktor tomorrow."
Minako felt a grin spread across her face and she said, "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go choose some engagement rings!"
Yuri smiled and nodded. "Yeah, let's go." He entered the shop with Minako and tried to process what was happening in his mind.
He was finally going to do this.
He was going to ask Viktor to marry him.

Thank heavens I don't have to write another chapter that's tragic like this fanfiction has been.
