They were traveling for two days. The weather was getting warmer. Arabella had missed it. She didn't need to wear fur anymore.
Soldiers were riding through Robb and Rickard Karstark. Greywind was looking around. "We're at war." Rickard started. "This march is a distraction..."
"My grandfathers funeral is not a distraction." Robb answered not looking at his banner man.
"You ride in a battle to Riverrun?" he questioned.
"No." Robb shook his head.
"This is a distraction." Rickard grumbled not happy with his king recently.
"My uncle Edmure has his forces in there. We need his men." Robb said strictly.
"There still won't be a difference." Karstark shot back.
"Have you lost faith in our cause?" Robb turned to look at the man.
"If it's revenge, I still got faith in it."
"You no longer believe... You don't think we can win this." Robb said as if he was reading the man.
"You speak your mind, your Grace." Rickard said and Robb glared at him.
"I'm not speaking my mind, Lord Karstark."
"You lost this war, the day you married her." he then said. Robb turned his head to Arabella, who was riding next to Alec.

Catelyn was making the wheel for the faith of the seven. She saw Arabella riding. A man took her horse and she got off of it.
Arabella approached her mother-in-law hesitantly. "May I help you do this?" she asked.
"No." Catelyn answered quickly.
"Oh." was all Arabella said as she sat down on a nearby rock.
"You can't help because a mother makes one for children to protect them." Catelyn looked at her. "Only a mother can make it."
"You've made them before?" Arabella asked interested. Catelyn looked around as if she was annoyed. "Did it work?"
"I prayed for Bran to survive." she looked up and her eyes filled with tears. Arabella nodded. "Many years before that, one of boys came down with the pox. Maester Luwin said if he would make through the night, he'll live. But it would be a very long night. So I sat with him all through the darkness, listening to his little breaths, his coughing."
"Which boy?" Arabella asked curiously.
"Jon Snow." Catelyn answered and glanced at Arabella. "When my husband brought that baby home from war, I couldn't bare to look at him. I didn't want to see those bright eyes staring at me, so I prayed to the Gods 'Take him away, make him die'. He got the Pox and I knew I was the worst woman, who ever lived. Murderer. This poor, innocent child with a horrible death, because I was jealous of his mother. A woman he didn't even know. So, I prayed the Gods. 'Let the boy live and I love him. I will be a mother to him and I will beg my husband to give him his name. To call him a Stark and be done with it. To make him one of us..." she stopped then.
"And he lived..." Arabella finished with a frown.
"And he lived." Catelyn agreed. "And I couldn't keep my word."
There was a brief silence. "And everything that happened since was a horror that came to my family." Catelyn finished. Arabella thought about her marriage with Robb. Was that horror?
Arabella looked down and thought about Jon. He must have had bad childhood.
"Arabella." she saw Alec coming towards. "May I have a word with you?"
"Yes." she stood up. "Excuse me, m'lady." Catelyn just nodded as she continued doing the wheel. Arabella walked over to Alec. "How are you feeling?"
"Better." he nodded. "I just wanted to thank you for everything. Without you I wouldn't be who I am today. Your guard, your friend."
"You say it like it's the last time we are speaking." she chuckled with her eyebrows raised.
"It may be the last time." Alec said in a low voice.
"What do you--" she started.
"I am leaving for the Wall." he quickly let it all out.
"What?" Arabella asked completely in shock. "Why?"
"I wasn't being very honest with you. My brother is there. I want to see him. I planned to tell you in Riverrun but I met people, who are going there and--" he didn't finish as she hugged him.
"I will miss you, friend." she shut her eyes close keeping her tears in as he hugged her back.
