I didn't wake up until about 8 pm that day out of many things. Sadness, hurt, Raula not waking me up for dinner. When she did wake me up I was in a bad mood. "Eliza time for dinner." She said shaking my shoulder gently. I bit my tongue trying to yell at her. "Ok I'll be down in a minute." I grumbled. Raula squinted her eyes and turned to leave. And I swear she came back again and woke me up. "Eliza wake up your foods going to get cold." I threw the cover off of me and sat up. "I'll be down in like, three seconds." I said loudly. Raula glared at me before walking out and slamming the door. I groaned and actually woke up and walked down stairs to find a plate full of green beans, potatoes, and a piece of meat. "Why are there four plates?" I questioned. Raula and Sabrina looked at each other before the bell rang. Sabrina opened the door and let Robert in. "Your father wanted to have dinner with us." Raula explained trying to sound happy. I gave a weak smile to my dad and a little wave. "Hi dad." I told him still not in the mood. Robert gave me a big hug, but him being taller than me it was hard to escape. "Hi sweetheart. I know I said that I was going to see you a couple days ago but things got in the way." He apologized. I nodded my head letting him know it was okay. "So how was your day?" He asked me as we ate our food. "It was...good." I told him vaguely. I had no clue why I was so mad over something so little. Sabrina looked at me as I stabbed at some green beans. Everyone was quite for a moment before Raula set her fork down. "Is everything okay Eliza? You seem a little off?" Raula asked me. I nodded my head signaling that I was fine. "Maybe its because of what happened last night." Sabrina suggested to Raula. "What happened last night?" Robert asked. Sabrina looked over at him and Raula answered. "Eliza ate nuts and she had a little scare and she used her epi-pen." She told him. Robert dropped his fork down on the table. "What? Why didn't you tell me?" He asked getting up from the counter. Raula sighed and tried to calm Robert down. "Robert calm down. It was late and you were busy." Raula answered him. Robert scoffed and squinted his eyes. "Oh really? What was I so busy doing that I couldn't answer the phone?" he asked sarcastically. "You were so drunk that you couldn't even remember us calling you last night. What a shocker." Sabrina said taking a sip of her wine. I frowned at them seeing the fight incoming. "What the hell did you just say?" Robert asked getting angry almost towering over Sabrina threatening. Sabrina set her cup down, wiped her mouth and stood up. "You heard me Robert. You were so damn drunk last night that you couldn't even pick up the phone to hear Raula trying to tell you that your daughter could have died again last night. But then again it wouldn't be the first time would it?" She said leaning over the counter a bit more with each word. Raula opened her mouth but before she could say anything I got up and walked towards the door. "Eliza where are you going?" Raula asked me. I ignored her and headed upstairs instead. "This dinner was a joke." I said before slamming my door shut. I locked it and grabbed my purse. "I need to calm down." I told myself. I left a note saying that I'll be back and opened the window. "Eliza open the door." Robert said jiggling the knob. "I found the key." I heard Sabrina say lowly as she unlocked the door. I didn't see what happened afterwards because I opened my wings and flew into the night.
I flew around for about an hour before I flew back around the house. Robert must have left and Raula was on the porch. I landed about a block away and hid my wings. I took a deep breath seeing the air as I breathed out. Why did humans always fight? They always say that they want peace but refuse to let the past go. "Hey." I said arriving at the front steps. Raula stood up and walked towards me. I thought I was going to get yelled at or a slap but instead I was engulfed in a warm hug. "You scared us." she whispered in my ear refusing to let me go. I hugged her back and after a few seconds she let me go. "Where did you go your father looked everywhere." she asked me. I shrugged my shoulders and shoved my hands in my pockets. "A magician never reveals her secrets." I joked with her. Raula smiled and put a arm around my shoulders. "Come on Sabrina's going to be happy to hear your fine." She told me. I smiled and opened the door to see Sabrina sitting on the couch looking at nothing. "She fell asleep." Raula said sighing. I giggled discovering a talent of Sabrina's. Raula shut Sabrina's eye lids and she fell side ways onto the couch. Raula smirked at her and lifted her feet onto the couch. Sabrina scrunched up into a ball and Raula walked towards the broom closet. When she returned she had a wool blanket and a soft pillow. Raula covered Sabrina in the blanket and lifted her head gently putting the pillow underneath it. "Go on to sleep Eliza. We'll talk about your punishment in the morning." My mother told me shutting off the light as we both walked up stairs. I sighed and closed my door feeling all kinds of emotions. My night had started how it ended. Confused, sad, a bit of hurt, and tiredness. I plopped onto the bed and groaned as my phone beeped. 'Heard you got home safe. Don't scare me like that again Kid. Love you.' Robert texted me. In my phone his name was Robert and I wanted to change that. I changed his name to Dad and texted him back that I also loved him. I put my phone on do not disturb so I could sleep peacefully. Then something poked my back. "Ow!" I said plucking a feather stuck in my back. The feather was mine and it was shinny and soft. I sighed and placed the feather on my nightstand.
