She was sitting in the back of an ambulance. Lestrade was trying to force a shock blanket on her. Sherlock and I rush over. She's just a little kid I feel for her. Her mother was killed by what we think was an overdose, but Sherlock has his doubts about that story. "Be gentle Sherlock she's just a kid" I warn him as we walk over.
"5 minutes than I'm bringing her to a local orphanage" Gregg says. Sherlock goes over to her, but I stay with Gregg for a second and ask "she doesn't have anywhere else to go?" I feel bad. He shakes his head. "Her mom was her only family poor girl" he sighs and walks away. Sherlock is already bombing her with questions. "Your mother was she a regular drug user" he questions. The little girl was obviously pushed to her max about to cry. I wouldn't blame her. I place a hand on Sherlocks shoulder. "Sherlock let's stop for now she's had enough."
"But John she hasn't even answered any questions." He wines. "Sherlock she's just a kid"
"John she may look like just a kid but she's smarter than you lot an she's 10"
"I'm 12" a small voice says. We both look at her. "Yes 12 whatever y/n tell us what we need to know"
"Fine." She shivers. "Everyone thinks my mother died because of a drug over dose but that's not true. She may have had a drug habit but she wouldn't leave me. Someone killed her I know it." This little girl had gone through so much already I just wanted to give her a hug. "There ok you got what you wanted?" She says. "See John she's smart!" Sherlock grins. She shakes her head and hops of the vehicle. "Off to the orphanage" she mumbles. "Wait" I say. "Listen y/n, uh I know we just met you but I mean you could stay at Baker Street for a while" I offer giving her a smile. She looks up at me. "Really?"
Sherlock looks at me "John" he has an edge in his voice. Gregg walks up to us. "That could be arranged" he smiles.
I take off my jacket and place it on y/ns shoulders. I had a feeling this kid would be around for a while.
