After driving for what seemed like days we had finally made it to my family's house, right when I got out of my car I was tackled by my sister.
"Hey! Oh my god it's been so long I've missed you so much!" she let go, saw Jay, and suddenly became all formal which was weird because she never does that.
"Hello, you must be Jay," she stuck out her hand, "My name is Grace but you can call me GG," she smiled which was even weirder because she usually doesn't let people let alone my friends call her by her nickname.
Jay shook her hand "Hey, I'm Jay, Veronica's friend."
GG just smiled and for some reason it made me a bit annoyed.
"Well we should get inside and start getting things ready for Monday!" I said a bit loudly.
GG cleared her throat and said "Oh, yeah we should."

While we were setting up GG kept calling Jay over for the littlest things like for him to cut the tape for the streamers or holding the ladder and honestly it was pissing me off, she had no problem doing all that on her own last year. I don't understand why it bothered me so much but it did.
After setting up I was helping my mom call people since she had been doing that all day so I thought I would let her take a break. She then proceeded to ask me if Jay was my boyfriend to which I said no he was just a friend. She later called GG over and of fucking course she came in with Jay.
"Gracey honey could you go buy last minute snacks for the party?" Mom asked.
"Sure, oh and hey have you met Jay yet?" When she said that I felt like strangling her, I was supposed to introduce him to Mom but I was busy on the phone inviting people.
"Oh it's so nice to meet you Jay I'm Margaret!" My mom introduced herself cheerily.
"Anyway, I'll get going now oh, Jay can you come with me? I'll need some help," GG asked as she walked out.
"Sure," was all Jay said as he left with her.
"Ughhhhh!" I groaned, it was so annoying.
"That girl in love sick," Mom giggled.
"Excuse me?" I nearly dropped my phone.
"Gracey, she is love sick, do you see how she can't stay away from that Jay kid?" I would have kicked my mom right there and then but I didn't because I had no reason to, right? And plus she was mom.
"Yeah right! You've been watching way too many romance movies!" I said to my mom as I continued calling numbers.
"Veronica I am her mother I know when she is in love and there is no denying that she is.," mom wouldn't let it go so I ignored her and just did what I had to do hoping the day would end soon.
