For as long as I could remember I had a gift. It wasn't like all the other gifts people would get like the gift to dance or sing my gift was nothing like that, mine was the gift to get people together and into a long lasting relationship.

My earliest memory of helping someone with my gift was when I was about 11 years old. I was at the park sitting on a bench when a very young and beautiful lady sat down next to me, she seemed to be looking for someone and seemed a bit troubled and me being the curious child I was asked, "Did you lose something lady?"

When I asked this she found it funny and began laughing, which caused me to laugh as well. Once we finished laughing she pointed to a young man around her age and said, "You see that man over there? I like him but I just don't know how to tell him, we've only spoken about 4 times and-"

She stopped then chuckled sadly, "Wow, I'm over here telling you something you probably don't understand when you probably rather be playing with the kids at the playground."

I saw her frown and look down I then said, "Tell him."

She seemed a bit startled the said, "It's not that easy you know."

I looked at the man and then looked back at her I could feel her love for him, it may sound strange but I felt it. I had an idea, I got up and ran to the man she looked at with such love and asked him, "Excuse me sir, do you have a girlfriend?"

I glanced at the lady who was about to get up and quickly shook my head at her to stop her. She gave me a confused look and so I mouthed the word stay. To my surprise she listened.

The man answered me saying, "Actually, I don't have a girlfriend per say, more like I have a boyfriend..."

'Boy is she going to be disappointed' I thought, I then said, "Okay."

Before I could leave he asked me, "Why do you ask?"

"For a...school...assignment..." I then ran quickly before he could ask anything else.

Right when I sat down the lady asked me a billion questions. I was just about to say  he was taken, when i heard a familiar voice calling my name.

"Veronica!?"

It was my babysitter Josh, I had completely forgotten about him, he had left a while ago to use the restroom.

"Veronica, what are you doing talking to strangers?!" he turned to look at the lady, "I'm so sor-"

"SHE is not a stranger Josh, she has a name it is...um," I turned to her and asked, "Whats your name?"

"Melissa, and I am very sorry, I was the one who approached her and started speaking to her," she grabbed her bag, "I should go, again, I'm sorry."

"Wait! Don't go, I still need to tell you that that guy is taken." I said and completely regretted it when i saw the sadness on her face.

"Oh," was all she could say, she turned once more but I grabbed her arm and said, "Me and Josh were actually going to get ice cream and I feel like you should join us to get your mind off of you know..."

"Oh no, no, no, I couldn't!" she quickly said.

"You wouldn't mind, right Josh?" I said. She looked at Josh and his cheeks began turning a light pink color.

"No, I wouldn't mind at all" he smiled.

"Well if it is okay with you then I don't see why not" she blushed.

I smiled and said " Alright lets go!"

After that Josh and Melissa hooked up and they still are together to this day, they always say it was thanks to me and at first I didn't believe them, not until I got a little older and began matching many other people together did I realize it was true...
