▪ chapter one ▪

As I walked into the Waverider, I knew it would be my last time.

There was only three of us left. Well four of you included Stein.

I walked over to Ray, Jax and Dr Stein, all sitting in their chairs.

"I can't believe there were so many of us when we started and we have gotten down to this many" Jax said

"I know. Amaya was just killed two days ago. Before that it was Mick who sacrificed himself to be with Snart. And Nick wanted to return to help Coast City 2016 over a year ago. I mean like what difference are only three of us going to make?" Ray added.

"I know this must be hard for you all but I can't keep going like this. I need more. I can't keep leading you, I need to go home" I said joining them.

"Sara" They all looked at me

"I'm sorry. I just need to see Oliver and everyone. I need to see my father. And what else can we fix. I mean we have nothing else to do. Vandal Savage and the Legion of Doom have been taken care of just like the rest of them. I say go home" I curled up into a little ball and started to cry. The first time in what felt like a century

"Sara. I know how you're feeling and I agree. I think we should all go home. Back to our original timeline" Stein said comforting me.

"I'm so sorry guys" I said wiping away my tears

"Yeah. Well I think that Hong Kong could do with a Ray Palmer" Ray said with a smile on his face "And maybe the Atom too"

I laughed

"Jefferson and I will most likely go up north to Canada or somewhere. Keep a low profile but still be firestorm when things get tangly" Stein said

"Yeah. And I know that Star City would be more than happy to have the canary back" ray added knowing I would eventually end up there. It was either that or the league, and I knew it in my heart I couldn't go back there anymore.

"I know this isn't easy but thank you for everything you have done. And if you ever need me, I'm just a call and a plane ride away" I said as we walked to the control room.

"Where are we keeping the waverider?" Jax asked

"I think I know just the place. Hang on" I said as I called Caitlin in the present time.

"Hey caitlin. Remember a while back when you said you owed me a favour, well time to pay up. The legends are um... disbanding. We need a place to keep the Waverider but still have access if we need it on some odd chance. Is that air hanger still empty?" I asked with sadness lingering in my voice

"Oh my god Sara. Im so sorry"

"Don't worry it was a group decision anyways. There was only four of us left"

"Yeah that air hanger is empty. We will just put a huge cover over it and a few shelves infront. No problem."

"Thanks"

"Caitlin!!!" I heard Cisco call out in the back

"Listen, just come to our timeline, May 26th, 2017, around 1:30. That will give me time to solve Cisco's problem. See you soon! CISCOOO!" she said forgetting to hang up the call. I hung up and walked back into the control room.

"Star labs has agreed to letting us keep the Waverider there. So this is it?"

"For now" Ray said.

We all hugged eachother for a long time before I sat in the captains seat.

"Gideon, pilot to Earth-1, May 26th, 1:30, 2017"

"Yes Captain Sara" Gideon replied as we sat back for our last trip through time for a long time.

Once we got to our destination, we helped Caitlin, Cisco and Barry load it in the air hanger.

"Thanks again" I said hugging Caitlin. "So I guess this is it" I turned to face the three left standing.

"I guess so. It was nice working with you Captain" Stein said hugging me

"WWe're only a call away. I will miss you" Jax said whispering in my ear.

"Hey. I know I really should be coming back to team arrow but I feel like Hong King would do with a good atom. Tell the team I say hi. And if any of you ever need me, I'm a phone call and a private jet ride away"

"Me too. Minus the jet" I said

"Us three" Jax and Stein said in harmony.

We all hugged for what felt like forever.

As we broke, they said goodbye and went on their way. I however, went to cisco.

"Hey. I need a favour. Can you make me a mask to match my new canary outfit?" I asked

"Yeah. I actually had one but I figured you wouldn't need it where everyone wouldn't know you. Let me get it in the basement" He said.

As I waited, I reminisced over all our good missions.

"Here it is. I will see you on the news" He said handing it over in a small white box. It said Ta-er al-Usfar on top

"Ollie told you that Ra's used to call me this didnt he"

"Maybe" he said with a smirk on his face

"Well see you" I said walking towards the train station.

As I sat down on the train, I knew that by the time I got there, team arrow would still be at their work so I could easily sneak in. I opened the box and found a mask so similar to my black one. It made me think of Laurel. What had I done to let this happen.

As I walked towards the old campaign office, I managed to find the hidden entrance and took the elevator down.

The lights were all off. As I turned them on, so much had changed. I seen a stand with Oliver's updated suit, another with Speedy's, a third with Arsenal's, the fourth with Spartan's and finally a display case with my sister's.

I walked over and sat by it not noticing any of the tech or the new salmon ladder. I stroked the wig on the mannequin. Then I put it on. There were extra stands in the back so I walked over to them and pulled one out.

I laid my clothes by it and then unpacked my Canary outfit and accessories. I then played dress up with my new mask and slightly older suit and my original wig.

As I looked in a mirror on the side, I seem someone I hadn't seen for a while. The White Canary.

Then I heard sounds from downstairs. I checked my watch, it was 6. They were here.

I stayed against the back of a wall where no one could see me at first.

"Oliver. Oliver!" I heard Felicity shout.

"What?" he replied

"Someone's here" I heard Diggle say as I realized I didn't completely shut the door.

"Hello?" Roy asked

I walked out to see them. My coat was on and my back was turned so they couldn't see my face.

"Who the hell are you" Ollie said drawing an arrow with his bow

I turned on my voice modifier. "I need your help. I am an old friend"

"Turn around and drop the voice over" Diggle said

I did as he asked but kept my head low so they couldn't recognize me that well. "Guess who's back?" I said as they all were shocked..
