Chapter 6

MIA POV

So far we have spent the entire car ride in silence. No one has spoke a word and the radio isn't even on.

"Mia as soon as we get home I want you to go up to your room while we talk with dad," Asher breaks the silence.

"Fine," I say while releasing a huff.

Ryan and Blake roll their eyes at us but never speak up. The other cousins rode back with Emily so they weren't in the car with us. Soon enough we get to the house and I waste no time jumping out and slamming the door shut. I speed walk to the front door and throw it open not bothering to close it after me.
I look up and see my dad sitting on the couch with his work laptop in his hands and glasses on his tired face.

"Princess, I missed you so much!" My dad exclaims with a sweet,worn smile and his eyes lighting up.

"Well come give your ol' man a hug already!" My dad says after me just standing there awkwardly.

I guess he grew impatient because he stood up to walk towards me. I immediately ran into his arms and he lifted me up effortlessly while kissing my cheek.

"Where are the boys at?" My dad asks chuckling.

I instantly groan and jump off of him. Right on cue Asher and the twins come in and shut the door behind them. My guess is that they took so long because Asher was filling them in on everything and his plan. I look up at Asher and he gives me a pointed look with a raised eyebrow. I look back at dad who had his arm around me still. Dad seems to catch on to the situation.

"Alright Mia why don't you go wait in your room I believe your brothers wish to have a discussion with me," My father says calmly. I decided to suck up to try to lessen the potential punishment and give him a sweet smile.

"Ok daddy!" I jump up and kiss his cheek before walking up to my room.

On my way there I hear a snort and a couple groans. They knew I was using being my dad's favorite to my advantage.

As soon as I reach my room I FaceTime Avery on my old iPad since I don't have my phone, and catch her up on my day while she fills me in on hers.

Turns out she didn't have a great day either. She has a older sister named Laney who is in eleventh grade and a brother named Chance in tenth grade, who might I add is definitely easy on the eyes. Of course I only think of him as a friend because I practically grew up with him!

Avery tells me about how this guy she thinks is cute asked for her number. Unfortunately Laney was there and texted Chance who decided to have a "chat" with the boy Avery was talking to. Let's just say growing up around us and being the only male child in his family has made him more protective of Avery, but Avery is very hard headed and definitely does not take orders from anyone..I have always envied that about her.

"Hellooo are you even listening to me?" Avery says while waving her hands in front of the camera.

"Oh what, I mean yeah of course," I tell Avery while regaining focus on our conversation.

"Ok then, what did I say?" Avery asks with a smirk.

"Ok fine..you got me I wasn't listening," I tell Avery sheepishly grinning.

"I figured, but I said what are you going to do about that party Saturday?" Avery said laughing.

"Well right now my brothers are downstairs trying to convince my dad that I should not have a life so if they happen to convince him to ground me than I'll just have to sneak out, but I don't think it will come to that because I can pretty much talk dad into anything!" I explain my plan to Avery.

"I don't know M you know how your dad is super,crazy protective he might be upset.." Avery tells me.

"I know Ave, but they better pray that I am not grounded though because I will literally MURDER Asher for blowing this out of proportion," I rant to Avery.

"They sure have been talking for a long time though Mia and I haven't even heard fighting.."Avery says.

She's right though, my family usually does not get a long too well. They are all too set in their ways and stubborn. If they aren't arguing they have to be agreeing.

"But on the flip side of this I like the whole bad girl Mia because let's face it you've always been the good girl." Avery tells me while smirking.

"Let's just hope I can pull it off..." I tell Avery honestly.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

I am broken out of my conversation with Avery hearing someone knocking on my door. I tell Avery I have to go and she wishes me good luck. Just as I am about to open the door my dad steps in and closes the door behind him. He walks over and takes a seat on my bed while patting the place next to him signaling for me to sit next to him. I get up off of my pink chair and follow his silent order.

"Alright precious listen up," My dad starts off.

"This morning when your brothers went to wake you up and couldn't find you anywhere in the house they immediately called me while I was..at work," Dad explained to me pausing his words towards the end.

"I'm not mad that I had to be called out of the office because my children's safety and well being is much more important to me. However I am very disappointed in you Mia," My dad tells me while keeping a stern expression.

Ouch..the disappointment card that one hurts. I start feeling tears form in the back of my eyes and I quickly blink while looking down.

"None of that now baby," My dad says lifting my chin up.

"I need you to look at me while I am talking to you," Dad says softly. I nod my head and look him in the eyes.

"Listen Mia I understand you got an earful from Asher earlier, so I am going to wrap this up. You know what you did was wrong and you need to be punished. You are grounded for the rest of this weekend and all of next week. I want you to go to school and straight back home. No phone,computer,iPads, or whatever other electronics you may have in here.
I know you didn't mean to upset us but you had all of us extremely worried," My dad explains to me.

To say I am stunned is an understatement..my dad never had the heart to actually punish me. I am confused and have no idea why I am in so much trouble for going to school with my big cousin.

"Dad this is completely unfair! All I did was go to school with Emily and any of you guys could've called to see where I was!" I shout at him.

My dad seems shocked at first that I raised my voice to him. I am usually a good kid and whenever he is here I am always stuck to him like glue.

"Listen Mia and listen good. My word is final in this household and I expect you to respect that and take your punishment respectfully as well. If it were up to your brothers you wouldn't see the light of day for a good two months. That can be arranged if you wish to be hard headed about this," My dad tells me with his nostrils flaring.

I take a good look at him and realize he is deadly serious.

"I'm sorry Daddy," I sigh and fake apologize while looking to the side.

"Come here princess," My dad sighs and picks me up in his arms and gives me a long hug.

After a while of him just hugging me his phone beeps and he groans while checking it.

"I have to go but I will send one of the boys to come and get your stuff, I love you." My dad tells me placing a rushed kiss on my forehead while walking out of my room.

Not even three minutes later Blake comes into my room to collect all of my electronics. After he finishes up he tries to talk to me but I simply wave him off. If I am going to stick to my plan I defiantly can not take any chances of feeling guilty or chickening out.

I had made my mind up that I was going to that party and no would stop me...
