MIA POV

As we walk in to the house my nose is filled with the stench of smoke and alcohol. A bunch of sweaty bodies were in the living room dancing around like crazy. Outside on the front lawn a few games of beer pong were being played, and couples were making out half naked.

"Woah," I speak out in a hushed tone. No one else would've been able to hear me, but Avery was next to me with our arms linked.

"Right!" She beamed at me and tried to drag me off to the dance floor.

"Oh no, not so fast. Come here Mia," I hear Ryan call out to me.

"Yeah?" I question him preparing myself for the rules.

"Listen, keep your jacket on at all times, don't drink any alcohol, stay away from males, do not go any where alone, and always stick with Emily. Got it?" He rushed the words out. He's just as desperate to begin partying as the rest, but he knows it's his job as the oldest here to look out for me.

"Aye aye captain!" I fake saluted him while puffing out my chest like in the movies. He rolls his eyes at me and tells me to be safe while walking away with the others. Emily gives me a smile and walks off towards a group of girls. We already discussed our own game plan. I'd just hang with Ave the whole time instead.

"Let's get some drinks!" Avery yells while swaying her hips to the music playing.

"Did you seriously not hear a word Ryan said Avery?" I question her with disbelief clear in my voice.

"Of course I heard him M, but this is your first ever party! Let's have some fun. Besides, it's not like we're trying to get drunk. We're just going to have a little fun!" Avery persuades me. I thought about the consequences for about two minutes before I allowed Avery to drag me to the kitchen.

"Hey ladies, what can I get y'all?" A cute boy spoke up from behind the bar area.

"I'll have a Rum and Coke, and she'll have the special punch," Avery ordered for both of us while twirling her hair around her finger. Obviously she finds this guy attractive.

"Coming right up," He replied by while sending a wink towards Avery.

"What the heck is a special punch?" I asked Avery quietly.

"Relax Mia you'll love it," She replied, flashing me a smile. I rolled my eyes at her. Avery can be a real handful, but I wouldn't want any other best friends but her and Lauren.

"Here you go babe," The cute guy caught Avery's attention and passed her our drinks.

I swirled the drink around in the red solo cup and took a whiff of it. You can never be too careful these days. I took a small sip of my drink and actually loved it. It was fruity but it was also super tangy! When I looked over at Avery I saw she had already downed her drink.

The guy started serving more people who came for drinks. Before he did he asked Avery for her number. She told him to find her later and she might consider it.

"Soooo," I teased Avery while nudging her with my elbow as the guy left to make drinks.

"Oh shut up Mia," She giggled out, "How's that drink?"

"I hate to say it, but I actually love it Ave!" I exclaimed out to her.

"Told you so, now let's go hit the dance floor!" She yells out excitedly and drags me to the floor.

We got there and started twirling each other around to the song. We would take turns spinning each other and cheering one another on as we did our own silly dance moves.
