“I told you, the burgers are great.”

Yes, it definitely is. No wonder lots of people were lining up. This isn’t the first burger shop in town, but it certainly is the first burger shop that actually sells good burgers.

“I want to add an ice tea. Would you like more?” Jasmine said.

“No. Thanks anyway. And Jas, it’s already quite late. We should be heading back. You’re parents will arrive any sooner.”

“Fine. But promise me, that next time we will come back okay?”

“Okay, as long as you’re not grounded anymore.”

We were on our way out. Jasmine was always talking and talking and I’m a little bit tired already that all I ever wanted is this night to end. What could be worse than having to cover up for a grounded best friend? Suddenly, a guy accidentally poured some coke on my shirt. Talking about worse situations.

“Hey!” I exclaimed.

“Will you watch where you’re going?”

“Weren’t you supposed to be the one saying sorry? FYI, you poured your coke on me.” I said, giving emphasis on “poured” and “me”.

“And FYI, it was because you were too damned busy that you didn’t have time to watch where you were going.”

The hell with this guy. And now he has the guts to blame me for what happened. Such a jerk. I didn’t want to argue anymore. I wanted to be away from the scene because I find it useless talking to such insensitive guy. When I was about to walk away, he grabbed my arms and faced me again.

“Hey Miss, you still owe me a coke.”

This is just great. I am the one person in the room who looks completely messed up, got blamed for being poured on as if I wanted it to happen, and now he actually thinks I am buying him a drink? Please tell me that I am not having this conversation right now.

“Excuse me?”

“You heard me, C-O-K-E. Coke.”

“You’re a lot worse than I thought. And I am not obliged to buy you one. Try sipping those left on the floor.” And I walked away. And as fast as I can.
