Jasmine and I were on our way to shop. Actually, I just went with her, for second opinion. She went out looking for new dresses and new shoes. I don’t really get what’s so special with her date that she actually will buy something new to wear tonight.

“How about this?”

“Too revealing.”

“Ha-ha-ha. Or you are just too conservative? Sam, please?”

“Alright, it looks great on you. All the rest do.”

“How about you try it on so I could actually see how the dress looks like.”

“I am not getting that dress on.”

“Yes, you are.”

And after minutes of arguing, I found myself trying it on. Darn Jasmine. The black cocktail dress fits perfectly, and I looked good on it. Well, I don’t wear too many dresses often.

“Sam, you look great!” Jasmine excitedly announced.

“Yes, you do.” A voice from behind inserted. Jasmine and I automatically looked to see who it was.

Daniel.

“Hey!” I said.

“Hey you, too.”

We stared at each other for a moment, and there was something in the way he looked at me. Was it because it’s the first time he saw me wore a dress? Oh great!

“Ehem?!” Jasmine interrupted.

“Oh! Jas, this is Daniel, and Dan, this is Jas.”

They exchanged handshakes.

“It’s nice to meet you.” He paused, and looked back at me, “So, I’ll go ahead. You take care girls.”

I know that Jas was filled with questions. I forgot to mention to her the part that Coke Guy was the one who helped me with Dad. I pretended to go on as if that moment a while ago was normal. But Jas didn’t let me.

“Since when? You and that Cute Rude Coke Guy?”

“It was nothing.”

“It doesn’t look nothing to me. And we were supposed to be bestfriends! So spill. EVERY detail. “

“There was really nothing to say. He was the one who helped me with Dad. That’s just it. We never saw each other again, until now.”

“Ugh! But you must admit, Coke Guy is cute.”

“Daniel.”

And yes, I admitted that last time, I find him cute. But I really don’t care. Or do I?

We just continued shopping. And when we ate, I saw Daniel passed by. I don’t really mind other people’s business but that didn’t stop me from looking to where he was going. And I saw that he stopped to a girl, with hazelnut-colored hair and her skirt is just as tiny as those from the children’s section. The girl obviously likes him, and as he approached through her, she grabbed his arms impatiently and smiled sweetly to Daniel. Oh well. Lovebirds.

I tried to focus back to Jasmine, who kept talking about how excited she is for her date, but my mind just was not in the proper state. The scene I witnessed was something I couldn’t take my mind that time.
