♡ Nekoi ♡ || Kuroo x Neko!!Reader

Hey hey hey~
(Am I the only one who has bokuto's voice in head like a curse? (¯―¯٥) )
I just want to mention that I'm already running out of ideas or rather motivation, so I would be glad about a few ideas.
About the title:
I thought it was a cute idea to write about a cat reader falling in love with Kuroo so I mixed up "Neko" (Japanese for "cat") with "Koi" (Japanese for "love").
Enough said! Lean back and enjoy the story! ヽ(^。^)ノ

Kuroo's POV

It was late in the evening and Kuroo was on his way home. He just came from practice and wanted nothing more than resting but for now he had to run. Why running? Because it was raining and the black - haired male forgot his umbrella. The darkness made it look like deep in the night and therefore he couldn't see right. That's why he stopped when he suddenly saw a blurred figure in the distance. Slowly, the volleyball player came closer to the figure. He was now able to see more. It looked it had cat ears and a cat tail, but it was way bigger than a normal cat should be. He was paralyzed when the figure looked up to him. Was it an animal? Was it going to attack him? The male soon got an answer.
"W-who are you?", a soft voice sounded. As Kuroo got closer and closer he soon realized it was a girl with cat ears and tail. But it wasn't a disguise. They looked real. He couldn't believe what he saw and so, he just stared at her. The [h/c] - haired girl stated back until Kuroo finally noticed what she wanted. "O-oh. My name is Kuroo Tetsurou. Just came by on my way home. And... Who are you?
"My name is [f/n]."
"[f/n]? What a beautiful name~. But what are you doing here all by yourself? You'll catch a cold if you don't go home."
The girl looked on the ground. Tears filled her eyes and ran down her cheeks.
"I don't have a home..."
Kuroo kept looking at the girl. She needed help and he knew it. A long silence came up. He was thinking. But he actually didn't need to think. For him it was already decided. "Then I'll have to take you with me."
With these words, the volleyball captain carried the cat- girl home bridal style. Meanwhile she sobbed into the red jacket of his sports uniform. From time to time, he stroke her head. Her hair felt so soft. Just like a cat's fur.

~Time skip~

Three weeks have passed and the [F/N] was still at Kuroo's place. Since she had no home, why shouldn't he keep her? She was a nice partner to talk with and whenever he came home from school, she waited for him. Besides... She was so cuddly and playful. The male enjoyed being with the cat-girl and she seemed to be happy as well.
But then the time came when Kuroo totally despaired. [F/N] became sick. It wasn't just a cold or something. She became really sick. Her body was literally burning. [F/N] didn't even want to eat or drink something. She couldn't talk properly and her breathing was unsteady. Kuroo called a doctor but he wasn't able to do anything so the girl was now sleeping on Kuroo's bead while the male sat on the ground next to the bed and stroke her head. He couldn't do anything else since he was no doctor. From time to time he would hold her hand. But only when she seemed to have a bad dream. He couldn't do something else since he was no doctor. But he wanted to stay by her side. He thought he could take at least a little bit of her pain away.
While [F/N] was sleeping Kuroo remembered the time he spent with her. It was like he would read a diary in his mind. He remembered everything...

From the time he was shopping with her. It was the first time [F/N] experienced something like this although it was usual for girls in her age. Of course she had fun. Kuroo was the one paying...

To the day they were eating ice cream. She wore a beautiful white dress Kuroo bought her before. Unfortunately some of her chocolate ice fell onto her dress and [F/N] cried until the volleyball captain bought her a new one. It had to be exactly the same so the both went hours from shop to shop to find this dress. At the end they found it but it started to rain so the cat-girl had to wear Kuroo's jacket over her new dress. But at least her smile was as bright as the sunshine.

One day Kuroo took [F/N] with him to school. She looked so adorable in a school uniform. He just had to take so many pictures until his storage got full. But he had no choice. [F/N] did so many cute poses for him. Especially the cat-like poses knocked him out. The teacher didn't notice her but later she was allowed to watch the volleyball team practice. The whole team locked the girl in their hearts. The setter called Kenma gained the most attention from [F/N]. She was very interested in his videogame the pudding-head played during their break. The cat-girl was allowed to try it out but she let his PSP drop which got damaged. In the end Kuroo paid for its repair.

"Tetsu?"
Kuroo awakened from his daydreams and looked into [F/N]'s [E/C] eyes. They were half opened and seemed sleepy. "Oya? Did I wake you up, kitty?"
Said girl shaked smoothly her head and smiled. "Just wanted to see you one more time", she answered.
"What do you mean?"
Kuroo moved his hand from [F/N]'s hair to her cheeks. The cat-girl took this hand and held tightly held onto it. Tears filled her eyes. The male's eyes widened.
"[F/N]? What's wrong? Are you in pain? Can I do anything for you?"
Once again she shook her head.
"It's going to be over soon."
"What does that mean? Are you feeling better?"
No response.
Instead, she pulled Kuroo closer to her and hugged him tightly.
"Tetsu... Can I say something?"
"Sure. Go on."
Kuroo whispered. He tried to not to say too much so [F/N] wouldn't hear him sobbing. But she felt it. She felt his whole body shaking. But she pretended to notice nothing.
"You know... When you found me I had nothing. Neither a house nor a family or other people I could rely on. The time I spent with you was the highlight of my life and I really mean it. Remember when we tried to eat cat food? You hoped you would transform into a cat back then..."
Both of them laughed a bit. As Kuroo calmed down, he took place on the bed next to [F/N] and continued to stroke her head while [F/N] continued to talk.
"I am a half cat. People aren't used to something like this so I never found a place I could call home. But since you found me... I guess I found this place. Tetsu... You was the one who gave me a home. A family. Friends. A place where I belong to. Thank you. I will never forget what you did for me."
"What are you talking about?" Kuroo asked as he tried to hide the tears in his eyes. But he never received an answer. [F/N] closed her eyes, took one last deep breath and fell into a sleep Kuroo new she would never awake from. He grabbed both of her hands and laid his forehand upon hers. Tears streamed out of his eyes.
Unstoppable. Uncontrollable.

"Don't go where I can't follow you... I love you..."
