Greyson opened his eyes. He stared at the ceiling for quite a while before he closed his eyes again, sighing deeply. Memory of last night came back.

"I love you!"

"Greyson, I love you..."

Chloe's voice was playing in his mind repeatedly that it made him fed up. He sat up and rubbed his face. Again, he stared at nothing.

"Why do I feel like this?" He muttered. "Come on, Greyson. Wake up."

Greyson got up and did his morning routine. After he had a shower and got dressed he went downstairs to the kitchen. Maura was there.

"Morning, Maura." He greeted and sat at the table.

"Morning, Greyson. I was about to call you for breakfast." Maura poured the coffee into a cup and tossed it to Greyson.

"Thanks Maura." Greyson took a sip and looked around. "Where's Chloe?"

"Probably upstairs. Usually she's already up at this time."

Scott entered the kitchen and saw Greyson. He raised his eyebrows. "You do know how to wake up early."

"I'm not in the mood to argue with you." Said Greyson while rolling his eyes.

"Where's Chloe? Is she going to join us for breakfast?" Scott asked.

"I'm going to call her now." Maura replied once she poured Scott a cup of coffee. Then she excused herself to go upstairs leaving the two alone.

   "How's life?"

   "Why do you care?"

"Greyson, stop it. Why can't you forget the past? I'm your father. Are you going to hate me forever?"

Greyson let out a cynical laugh. "How can you call yourself a father when all you did was fucking different women every single night in front of your own son?!"

The moment he finished his words, Greyson felt a stinging pain on his left cheek as his head snapped to the side. He turned to look at his father who was staring at him with his eyes wide. His father just slapped him.

"No matter how much you hate me, I'm still your father. Have some respect!"

Greyson was about to say something when suddenly Maura appeared. There was panic written on her face as she tried to catch her breath.

   "What's wrong Maura?" Scott asked.

   "Chl-chloe..."

"What's with her?" It was Greyson's turn to ask. He held his now bright red face and rubbed it.

"She left."

Greyson went to work as usual that Monday but it was not the usual him. He kept staring at nothing and had been spacing out the whole time that when Alex explained to him about their clients he was not even listening.

"There he goes again." Alex sighed when he realised that Greyson was zoning out the entire time he talked.

"Earth to Greyson! Earth to Greyson!" Alex snapped his fingers at Greyson's face.

Greyson finally looked at Alex, blinking his eyes. "What? I agree."

"Stop it, Greyson. You look dumb."

Greyson slowly straightened up. "What?" He asked again.

"You didn't even listen to me when I was explaining. Okay, now tell me what's on your mind?"
