This is the last chapter! Thanks for reading! xxxxxxxxx

April

I wasn't originally thinking about doing it. But when Niall layed me down on the bed with his lips attached to mine, I started thinking about doing it. I brushed it off, we were only making out, it's not like we were going to have sex.

But then he took off my shirt, and then I thought about it again. I've seen it in TV shows, books, and movies all the time. It didn't mean we were going to do it. So I brushed it off again, focusing only on him. We were only making out; we weren't going to have sex.

Next was his shirt, then his trousers and mine. I kept brushing it off. We were just making out. People did it all the time. It was when we were both naked when I started to worry a bit. This was not making out, this was something else. The something I've been avoiding.

When he asked "are you sure?" I found myself nodding. I don't know why, but maybe my head was telling me I was ready. And I figured out that I was.

We did it. After I thought I wasn't going to be able to do it, that it would be different. I thought that I would freak out and have a flashback, but I didn't and that surprised me. We didn't say anything after, just 'I love you' and fell asleep right after that.

May

"Hey, Abigail? Can I ask you something?" Niall says, unsurely. He shifts from foot to foot, he's scared. I stand up from the sand and dust off my bum. We're at the beach we went to with the boys months ago since it's finally gotten warm out. Except this time, the boys aren't here. It's just Niall and me.

"Yeah, sure."

"I know we've only known each other for about three years... We've only started to say 'I love you' to each other and trust each other but I've been thinking about this for a while and I've finally made my decision, now it's time for you to make yours." Niall says, before sticking a hand in his pocket and going down on one knee. He opens the velvety box, revealing a ring with detailing on the shiny silver of the ring and the sparkling diamond in the middle.

"So, Abigail May Evans, will you marry me?"

"I..." I trail off.

I really don't know what to say. I want to say 'yes' or something as sentimental as he just said to me but nothing is coming out. Just now I'm starting to think about how our lives have been for the past while, it's been... Magical.

Amazing.

Dramatic.

Wonderful.

Confusing.

Sweet.

Delightful.

And everything I could ever wish for. So I look at him in the eyes, hoping he can read them and get what I'm thinking. Hoping that he can understand how I feel about him right now, in this moment. My eyes sting and I feel wetness on my cheeks but also a smile on my lips. There's nothing holding me back, there's nothing that could stop this moment and I know I don't want anything to.

"Yes," I say with a laugh bubbling out from my throat.

A huge grin appears on Niall's face and he takes the ring out of the box, throwing it on the ground before taking my hand in his and sliding the ring on. He stands up and pulls me into a kiss. the most passionate kiss I've ever shared with him. With anyone, essentially. That moment was too short. I think that no matter how long it would end up being, it would be too short.

"I can't believe this. I'm getting married..." I say into Niall's shoulder after we pulled away from the kiss. Niall's arms were wrapped around my waist, holding me as close as possible.

"Soon you're going to be Mrs. Horan."

A few minutes later, we pull away from the hug and I take this moment to inspect the ring. It's beautiful. Everything I ever wanted in a ring, not like I was imagining it or anything. The diamond sparkles in the setting sun.

"Does management approve of this? When will we tell the public?" I ask, getting a bit nervous. Management wouldn't like this if he didn't tell them first; they always have to be the first to know. And the public; what will they think? Will the fans hate me or be happy for us?

"They know, don't think I was that stupid. And I was thinking of telling them in a month or so... you just have to keep that hidden for a while." He says, pointing to the ring.

"I'm getting married." I say, disregarding the last thing he said. The thought hadn't been able to leave my mind, despite everything else I was thinking about. I'm getting married. I'll be Mrs. Horan soon.

Abigail Horan, not Abigail Evans. Not Abigail, the girl from Minnesota who had to deal with her abusive father. But Abigail Horan, the girl who lives in London and writes her own music. I'm a completely different person now. I'm me and there's no one else I'd rather be.

I take out my journal, the same one with all the diary entries. The first one was dated a year ago today. It's been a whole year since I've started this. I don't know why, but I start writing. Not a diary entry, though.

"Dear Dad,

Notice how I didn't call you 'Father' this time. That was when I thought you were a bad person but being here made me learn that you aren't a bad person. You're a good person that made bad decisions.

When I first moved to London I was depressed. Majorly depressed because of the pain you caused me both physically and mentally. Even now I'm still hurting. I can't watch a fight scene in movies or else I'll get a flashback. I can't get into an argument without thinking of you yelling at me in your drunken state before hitting me.

But now I'm happy, I've got an amazing life. If I was still back in Minnesota, living with you, I don't think I would actually be alive. I don't think you'd kill me, I think I'd kill myself. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming this all on you. I should have done more, gotten you help.

I want you to get help, I really do. You can stop this and be healthy again. I don't think I'll ever be coming back home; I have a new life here. I'm getting married and I'm happy which is exactly what I wasn't there. I won't know if you've done what I asked you to unless you decide to write back and I don't expect you to, honestly. If you do, though, that would be amazing. It would make me happy and not like we left off badly.

So please, forget about Mom and move on. Get sober and find someone who will love you just as much as Mom did, please. I know what happened was terrible and devastating. I know that you're sad and trust me, I'm sad too but you have to move on from that. Fall in love all over again, get married. Maybe then I'll come back to visit but only if you do this for me, for yourself.

Love always,

Abigail.

So.... That's it. This is the last chapter, you just read the last words of this. I thought that finishing a book was going to be a good experience but it isn't. I'm actually crying, I haven't cried much during this story but I had to stop writing 4 times because I started crying and couldn't see the screen and I'm crying again. I wasn't planning on finishing it tonight or even this week. Not even this month but here I am, the 25 of January writing my thank you note.

Thank you so much for reading this, voting, commenting, sharing it with your friends. Please, tell me what you thought of the story, what I could do to improve in the future or even saying hi. There will not be a sequel but I'm starting a new story with a side character being Abigail. So go check that out when I post it!
