I jumped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself. I slipped into a crop top and jean shorts. I blow dried my hair as fast as I could and curled it. I was in the middle of applying my makeup when I heard the doorbell ring. I ran down the steps and opened the door. I saw Mike and I smiled.
Mike wore a white t-shirt with a black leather jacket over it. He had on jeans and black shoes.
Mike smiled. "Wow. You look great."
I blushed. "Thank you. Um, come on inside. I'm not quite ready yet." I poked my head into the kitchen and saw William. "William...um...Mike is here. Could you keep him company while I finished getting ready?"
"Sure..." William said, not looking back at me.
I ran upstairs and heard William talking with Mike. They seemed to be friends and then I remembered that they were the same age and they played basketball together. I finished applying my make up and walked to the top of the stairs. I listened in on their conversations and heard Clint join in.
"Hey," William said, "you're a cool guy. I like you, but I need to lay some ground rules. Have Lexi home by eleven o'clock. Don't go on your phone while driving."
"Also, if you hurt her in any way possible I will track you down and beat you till you can't breath. Understood?" Clint said.
Mike nodded. "Yes."
I walked down the stairs and Clint looked at me. I thought I heard him gulp and I took Mike's hand.
"Alright. We better go if we wanna catch the movie." I said.
As I turned, I heard Clint whisper something to William.
"Wait!" William snapped. I looked back at him. "That outfit is inappropriate."
I scoffed. "Are you kidding me?"
William crossed his arms. "No. Go change."
"William?! Are you trying to make sure we're late for the movie?" I asked.
Mike set his hand on my arm. "It's okay. I'll wait outside. We got time."
So, I ran upstairs and changed into a pretty sundress. I slipped on flip flops and ran back downstairs and outside before William or Clint could say anything. I got into Mike's car and he drove to the movies.
"I'm sorry about them." I said. "They are impossible."
Mike smiled. "It's okay. So, that guy that was with William, he lives with you?"
I nodded. "It's just a temporary thing. He's William's best friend and he is also the largest douche bag that ever walked the face of the earth. You don't need to worry about him."
Mike laughed. "Cool."
We reached the movies and walked inside, our hands linked together. Mike, being the gentlemen he was, bought my move ticket and snakes. I had offered to pay for it but he refused.
"A gentlemen always pays for the first date." Mike had said, grinning.
We walked into the theater and talked before the movie started. He was telling me about how he had come from California when I saw someone sitting only a couple of rows in front of us that I recognized only a couple of rows in front of us.
"Clint..." I snarled.
Mike looked at me. "What?"
"I'll be right back." I said, standing up. I started down the steps. "CLINT BRADSHAW!"
Clint automatically shot up and ran as fast as he could without looking back. I ran after him and practically tackled him in the lobby.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" I screamed, pinning him down on his back.
