William, Clint, and I drove to the hospital quickly. Clint drove because William looked like he was about to throw up. We ran inside and William ran over to Martha who was being rushed into a room. He grabbed her hand and she looked up at him.
"Y-You came!" Martha smiled.
"Of course I came." William said.
William and Martha were taken into a room and Clint and I were left outside alone. We sat down in the waiting room and I sighed.
"What a crazy day..." I said.
Clint laughed and looked at me. I looked at him. "I'm guessing it's still not a good time to kiss you..."
I looked at him. "You still won't give up will you?"
Clint shook his head. "I told you...I love you..."
I bite my lip and looked away from him. "My parents will never let me date you..."
Clint grabbed my chin and turned my face towards his. "Then they don't have to know..."
"You want me to lie?" I asked.
"I just want you to be with me." Clint said.
I looked down and Clint kissed the top of my head. "Just consider it yeah?"
"Yeah...okay." I looked up at him.
Several hours passed and I was getting tired. My head was on Clint's lap and he was running his fingers through my hair when William walked out to us with a smile.
"She's born..." William smiled.
I smiled. "That's great!"
William led Clint and I into the room and I saw Martha holding her kid. I smiled and Martha looked at me.
"Do you want to hold her?" Martha asked.
"Can I?" I asked.
Martha nodded and handed me her baby. I smiled down at the baby.
"Hi there..." I said softly and the baby smiled up at me. "She's beautiful."
Clint looked over at my shoulder and smiled down at her. "What's her name?"
"Angela." William and Martha smiled at each other.
I handed her kid back. Clint and I left them alone.
"Alright. Let's get you back home." Clint said.
Clint led me out to his motorcycle and handed me the helmet. I looked at him and he looked back at me. He smiled and I smiled back. We started the drive home and I laid my head on Clint's back. We approached a stop light and I noticed three motorcycles. One was behind us and the other two were on either side of us. The drivers were glaring at us and I realized it was Muscle, Ink, and Toothpick. I tapped Clint's shoulder.
"Clint..."
"I know. Just play it cool."
We continued driving and they continued to follow us. I was getting nervous. Suddenly, Clint pulled over and stepped off the motorcycle and Muscle, Ink, and Toothpick stepped off theirs.
"Clint! What are you doing?" I hissed, taking off my helmet.
Clint ignored me. "Hey guys. How's it going."
Ink grabbed him by the front of his shirt. "Watch your tone with us pretty boy."
"I see you have your girlfriend with you again." Toothpick grinned.
"Leave her alone! She has nothing to do with any of this!" Clint snapped.
Muscle laughed and started towards me. I backed away but Toothpick walked up behind me and grabbed my arms. I screamed and Clint started towards us but Ink and Muscle held him back.
"No! Stop! Get away from her!" Clint yelled.
Toothpick laughed in my ear and stroked my cheek. "She's pretty...maybe we could take her back to our place and have some fun with her."
"Good idea." Muscle smiled.
"N-No! Clint!" I cried. I noticed I was crying and Clint looked at me with eyes full of sorrow.
"Please don't hurt her! I'll pay you back!" Clint said.
The three men smiled at each other. "Pay us back all the money?" Ink smiled.
"All of it! Just let her go!" Clint begged.
I was surprised to hear this. He was going to give up all of his money...for me?
"Fine. We'll keep her here and you can go get the money and bring it back." Muscle said. "When we have the money, we'll let her go."
Clint looked at me and I whimpered. "Fine. Fine...I'll get you the money."
"Good. You better get going." Ink laughed.
I watched as Clint climbed back onto his motorcycle. He looked back at me one last time before he drove off. I felt Toothpick tied my wrists behind me with something and he sat me down next to a dumpster. He tied a cloth over my mouth. I didn't dare move an inch. I think I was so scared that I was paralyzed with fear. I tried to not think about what would happen if Clint didn't come back.
But soon enough, the same motorcycle pulled back into the lot and Clint Bradshaw stepped off his motorcycle with a large wad of money in his hands. He handed it to the three men who counted it to make sure it was right. Clint looked at me and I looked back at him.
"Alright." Toothpick smiled.
Ink walked over to me and took the cloth off around my mouth and untied me arms. I sprinted over to Clint and fell into him. He hugged me and I sobbed.
"I'm sorry Lexi..." Clint whispered.
"Now," Muscle pulled out a knife, "if you tell anyone about this, we will find you both and kill you. We'll kill the girl right in front of you Clint and you can watch her bleed out on the ground at your feet! Understand?" Clint nodded quickly. Muscle put the knife away. "Have a nice night."
They pulled out of the lot and Clint started checking me all over. "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?"
"I'm okay...I'm fine..." I sobbed.
Clint sighed. "I'm so sorry, Lexi."
I wiped my eyes and looked away, not wanting Clint to see me cry like this. Clint turned my face back towards his. He leaned forward and kissed me softly. I closed my eyes and kissed him back. Clint pulled back and he smiled at me.
"I knew you couldn't resist me." Clint joked.
I couldn't help but laugh. "Fuck you..."
Clint smiled and put an arm around me. "Let's get you home..."
