I woke up on the couch. The television was on a low volume and I could just barely hear the theme song of SpongeBob SquarePants playing. I shifted on the couch and realized I was laying on something. I heard a soft sigh and looked up.

I was laying on Clint Bradshaw.

I quickly sat up and looked down at him. I sighed and shook him.

"Clint. Wake up." I said.

Clint looked around groggily. "Huh?" He looked up at me. "Oh. Hey there, princess."

I smiled, leaned down, and kissed him softly. He kissed me back.

I heard the front door open and figured William was back from his run. I was gonna pull away, but I was so locked in the kiss, I couldn't pull away. Neither one of us moved.

Suddenly, I heard a high pitched scream and shot up to see Mom and Dad staring at us. I gasped and jumped off the couch. Clint shot up.

"Mom! Dad! W-What are you doing home so soon?" I asked, trying to hide my fear. It didn't work at all. I was terrified of what they would do.

"What the hell is he doing here?!" Dad yelled.

"WHY WERE YOU KISSING HIM?!" Mom screamed. "Where is your brother?!"

Just then, the door opened again. "Lexi! Clint! I'm home and I have donuts! I stopped by the hospital as well and Martha is doing pretty well. So is the baby."

William walked into the living room with a box of Dunkin Donuts in his hand. He froze and stared at them with a horror stricken expression glued to his face.

"Mom...Dad..." William said slowly.

"Sit on the couch! Both of you! Now!" Dad yelled. His face was red and stem was practically flying out of his ears.

The three of us sat on the couch uneasily. My hands were shaking and Clint put his hand on my leg and gave it a small, comforting squeeze. My parents paced back and forth in front of us and we watched them.

"Why is that delinquent here?!" Dad yelled at William then turned to me. "Why were you kissing him?! Did you know about this, William?!"

"Sort of..." William shifted next to me.

"AND YOU LET IT GO ON?!" Mom screamed, mortified.

"It's not like that," I said quietly.

"Then what is it like?!" Dad yelled at me, making me jump and shrink down.

"We were just kissing." I looked at him.

"What else have you done?" Dad asked.

"Nothing," I said quickly.

"And who is Martha?" Mom asked William.

William sighed. "My...My girlfriend. She just had a baby and...it's mine..."

Mom screamed and Dad's face went even redder if that was possible.

"WHAT?!" Dad screamed.

"I'm so sorry..." William put his head in his hands.

Mom sat down. "Oh my God..."

Clint looked at me and I felt tears run down my cheeks. Dad turned to Clint.

"What are you doing here?" Dad demanded.

Clint rubbed the back of his neck. "I had to get away from my parents. My dad. He was...hitting me and I ran here in the middle of the night because I didn't know what to do. I had nowhere else to go..."
