(Luke’s POV)
Today was a Sunday and surprisingly we didn’t have a concert. Ashton had the bright idea of hanging out with the girls again. I was afraid of what today had in store, Maya would undoubtedly confront me and I had to talk to Ember. I just hoped it would happen in reverse order.
“Get up Luke!” Ashton threw a pillow at me. We were staying in a hotel in Melbourne. Last night the girls had gone home to May’s house and were meeting us somewhere in the city.
“I’m getting up, wait.” I said annoyed.
“Hurry up! Calum and Michael have already left to meet them at the train station.”
“Okay.” I said getting up. “Where are we meeting them all?”
“Mike and Cal are bringing them here and then we are deciding where to go.” With the news of seeing Ember in a few minutes, my stomach erupted in butterflies, I grabbed my phone and texted Calum.
L: convince Maya somehow not to punch my face in today. I’m going to talk to Em as soon as she gets here.
C: Okay I’ll try, no guarantees.
I got dressed and ready. I didn’t know how I was going to talk to Em alone since today we were all going to be together.
“Ash, when they get here can you go somewhere with May and I’ll get Michael and Calum to go somewhere too. I’m going to talk to Ember." As I spelt out my plan to Ashton, it started to sound impossible and far-fetched, but if it didn't work, I would still do anything to make it clear that I stilled loved Ember. If she listens.
“Yep.” He grinned. “I hope everything goes well, mate. I’m going to get more milk.”
“Okay.” He left and I sat down on the couch scrolling through my phone. It was about five minutes later that Michael, Calum and Ember walked in the door. She was dressed in a cute summer dress. It outlined her curves in just the way I loved them. In that moment all I wanted to do was wrap her in my arms and kiss her. But, I remembered, all too soon, that she wasn't mine and she probably wouldn't let me be hers.
“Hey!” Ember said as she walked in the door. Thank god she was in a good mood. She never really held grudges for long, but she still had tension in her voice.
“Hi.” I said trying to match her enthusiasm but failing.
“Ashton and Maya went to get some milk we saw him in the lobby.” Calum said.
“Want to play COD while we wait?” He asked us. We all nodded and I looked over at Cal. He nodded and spoke.
“We’ll go get the game and a few controllers, c’mon Mikey.” They left and Ember and I were left alone. We sat in silence for what felt like 5 minutes until I had the courage to talk.
“Ember?” I asked nervously. She looked up from her phone to me. “Calum told me that he told you.” I noticed her chest rise and fall as she took a deep breath.
“Luke just tell me what really happened. He told me this morning that you had something to tell me.”
“I’m really sorry that it happened yesterday, on your birthday.”
“Luke just tell me what happened.” She said the tension in her voice growing. This time I took a deep breath. I didn’t know how she would react.
“The boys and I went out to celebrate our first concert of this tour. When we got to the place a girl came up to me and we started talking. She was being really flirty and then she kissed me. All of the boys saw and walked away obviously mad-“
