"There...All finished!" I set my old fashioned 21st century ink pen down. I picked up the piece of paper and re-read the letter I wrote to Volta Terra. "Dear Volta, I know you may have fallen in love with Alan...but I want to tell you something Important! Meet me at our usual lunch spot in the courtyard today. I will explain what is going on!" Hm, a failed attempt of writing in cursive...but at least I tried! Just trying to write is hard in general since the technology in this age is so advanced. "Watchya writin' Kinetta?" I jumped back and nearly fell over on my chair. I looked up and it was Aly and Alicia
"Oh...hello there..." I muttered. "What's this?" Alicia asked and picked up the letter. "No, no-no-no! You can't read that!" I tried to reach over and take the letter from her, but Aly held me down. "Hm? What is this gibberish? I can't even read a thing!" Aly looked at the letter. "Whoa...I can't read that either. What have you been drinking lately Kinetta?" Oh perfect, they can't read cursive. "Uh, it's part of my class." I lied. Alicia tossed the paper back at me and Aly released me. "Okie-dokie then...good luck in that class." They both left the kitchen. Maybe I shouldn't be doing my personal stuff here in the kitchen...
I folded up the letter and placed it in my left pocket of my coat. I then left the house, but looked at my garage. Hm, should I drive? Or should I not? I really want to try my new hovercraft out after days of letting it sit there. Well, since I made it, might as well put it to use. I hopped into my neon blue hovercraft and started the engine. The cockpit closed and the seat straps extended over my shoulders and buckled to the seat. "Engine ready to ignite." the hovercraft system said. "All systems green! Let's go!" I yelled out and pointed. Wait, I forgot I don't have a crew...I have to pilot this myself. Right...I unbuckled and hopped into the seat behind me with the controls. I gripped the steering wheel and gently pressed the accelerator down.
The hovercraft slowly started to progress out of the garage. This is taking too long! I stomped down on the accelerator and the hovercraft blasted with speed. "Whhoooooaaaa!" I was already shooting past 250 mph. I drifted the hovercraft around the turns and dodged traffic. Oh, right! Air brakes! I grabbed onto the air brake lever and yanked it up. I jerked forward really hard nearly flying out of my seat belt. Goes to show how skinny I am. The hovercraft pulled over to the side. Okay...I shouldn't rush this thing then if I want to live. This also goes to show I need to work on my piloting skills before I take off to Elyssia. I took a deep breath and drove as fast as traffic flowed.
I suddenly hear yawning in the back of the hovercraft. Well, I must've been imagining things since I didn't catch much sleep last night. "Mmh...Where am I?" Okay, there is someone in the back. I looked up in the rear-view mirror and saw a naked body. I yelped and quickly looked away from the mirror. "Good morning, Meredith...May I ask what the hell are you doing in my hovercraft?!" I yelled. Meredith yawned again and scratched the back of her head. "Well, I was sleepin' here since I thought Volta was gonna come cryin' back to you in the middle of the night and make it up to you by se-" "Okay okay, I get what you're trying to say. You don't need to explain it. And no she hasn't came back yet, so I'm going to give her this letter."
I handed Meredith the note and she opened it up and read it. "Be careful, Kinetta. That's all I'm going to say. Knowing her, this can swing either way. Both ways it can swing are both negative, sorry to say." I wrinkled my left eyebrow and raised the other. "Are you sure? Because you're usually wrong most of the time."
"Gasp! I'm offended! I'm usually right, brother!"
"Yeah, usually right. But the last few times, you were wrong, terribly wrong."
"Wait, what was it last time?"
"About you being able to take in liquor straight..."
"Ahahah...right...Oh so that's how I got in here. I was so drunk I didn't even remember."
