It was a rather awkward evening at the dinner table because everyone was there. Yes, everyone. Garren, Myra, Aly, Alicia, Mark, Alan, Meredith, Rupert, Ervin, and last but not least, Era. Garren and Myra kept looking at Era as they ate their chicken. Era sat up straight and tall. Her posture was perfect, even more perfect than Rupert. She would elegantly pick up her fork with her left hand while keeping her right hand on her lap, then poked the chicken, and ate it without leaving a trace of saliva on her fork. I was caught up in a trance watching her eat so proper and elegantly. I ended up dropping my fork onto my plate and she then looked at me funny along with everyone else.

"Oh, uh, sorry..." was all that came out of my mouth when I picked my fork back up and cleared my throat. "Boy, Kinetta sure is head over heels for this girl." whispered Aly. Alicia nodded and kept observing me. Mark didn't understand why Era was sitting in Volta's seat. Garren finally broke the silence and spoke. "So, it appears you have finally met Era?" I looked at Garren, surprised that he knew about Era. "You know her already? I thought you didn't know who she was!" Garren dabbed his mouth and beard with a napkin, then looked back up at me.

"Now, I hope you understand what we're about to say to you. There's a lot that we need to talk about and I think now is the time. I know Volta left you and that's not entirely your fault. However now that Era is in the picture, I thought now would be a good time to explain the unexplained. Kids, you are dismissed from dinner." Aly, Alicia, and Mark parted the dinning table and went to their rooms. I had a feeling this talk is not going to be pleasant. Myra sighed and aimed her eyes at the floor while chewing on her chicken. "So, son, how does it feel finally meeting our house system in person?"

I gagged on my chicken and managed to cough it out. "I beg your pardon?" Garren then rubbed his beard and squinted at me. "I'm surprised you don't recognize her voice when you were speaking to her." Era then looked at me with a straight face and then raised her eyebrow. "Go on, call the house system, Kinetta." Garren urged me to do. I was hesitant but finally called for the system. Era suddenly held up her arm to her mouth as the house system screen came down to me. "How may I be at your service, Master Kinetta?" Era said which also came from the screen in front of me.

"No....no no no! You're kidding, right?" I felt myself slowly scooting out of the chair. Meredith, Alan and Ervin looked at me surprised. They were shocked as I was. "So does that mean...?" Garren sighed and leaned back in his chair with his elbow rested on the table. Era glared at him for his posture and mannerism.  "Yes, that means that screen was her this entire time. She is basically our house security with all of the cameras around. She has also been taking your orders that you purchased. Oh, and yes, that does mean we know about your hangar with your ship in it. You want to leave to Elyssia, right?" My heart sank when he said those exact words. They knew about my ship, my hangar, and my steambots.

It took me a while to even make a response. I felt Meredith was feeling the same way because of how quiet she was. "Y-yes, I want to go to Elyssia." Garren sat up and leaned in towards me with his hands folded in front of his mouth with both of his elbows on the table. Era's left eye started to twitch. "And why do you want to go back to Elyssia? Your real father is right here, and your real sister is here too. Your mother is dead and both your father and Meredith can confirm that for you, right?" He looked at both Rupert and Meredith. Meredith gulped and slowly nodded. Rupert scratched his head and sighed. "It is true, Elanor is no longer living. After she gave birth to you, but you should remember that as it has been mentioned to you before."

I felt even more uncomfortable. Not because the fact my real mother was dead, but how Garren knows everything even about Rupert being my real father. "See? Look, what I'm trying to get at is if you leave here with your crew, what good will that bring you? You do know that Elyssia's environment is a lot more dangerous than Earth? The society there is also not that great. There's a good reason why the War of Technology happened. And I'm pretty sure you studied about it yourself."
