Chapter Eleven: Cousins

The laughter of two children ran throughout the playground, as Naruto Uzumaki tackled his cousin, Sakura Uchiha down. "Tag your it!" He laughs, as he rolls over to the side of a tree as Sakura laughs. "You dumbo! I'm quicker than you, I can activate shawin-shawinga-shawing..." Naruto laughs at his cousin struggling to pronounce the single word that tried to slip away from her lips. "It's pronounced sharing-a-gun!" Naruto laughs as Sakura huffs, and a boy walks out from behind a tree. "It's pronounced Sharingan." Says a boy, who seemed to be a couple years older than them.

"Sharingan?" Sakura tilts her head as the blond haired boy turns to her. "Sharing-a-gun, so that's what you'll unlock!" Naruto smiles as the boy with crow hair smiles simply. "Ah. So I see, you're Sakura Uchiha, right?" The boy asks as Sakura nods. "Yep! I'm the daughter of Konan Uchiha and Yahiko Haruno, believe it!" She copies her cousin as he gasps. "Hey! Don't copy me!" Naruto says as the boy walks towards them. "And you are?" The boy asks Naruto. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki! Son of Nagato Uzumaki and Narugisa Haruno Uzumaki, believe it!" Naruto declares.

The boy places a finger on his chin as he thinks. "Narugisa? Isn't she the owner of Ichiraku?" He asks, as Naruto nods. "Yep! My family loves ramen! Well, mostly me and my mom, my dad kinda." Naruto says, as Sakura smiles. "I see then. Well, I have to finish delivering all these papers, see you two around!" The boy says as he starts to run, and Sakura quickly walks forward, before cupping her mouth and shouting, "Wait! You forgot to tell us your name!" She says, as the boy stops, and slowly walks over to Sakura and pokes her forehead.

"Itachi Uchiha."

Sakura and Naruto watch kids run around the Ninja Academy as they are awestruck and amazed. "Wow, I can't wait to be a ninja, ya know?" Naruto smiles, toying with a dandelion. "Me neither, how do you think it's going to be like?" Sakura asks, as Naruto stands up and places both his hands on his hips. "One thing is for certain, cousin! We'll be great ninja together!" Naruto declares as Sakura simply smiles. "Yeah! So hey, how about we grab some ramen before we play on the playground again?" Sakura asks, as Naruto smiles wide.

"You think my mom is gonna be there?" Naruto asks as Sakura nods. "You're mom loves to eat, so why wouldn't she be?" Sakura gets up as Naruto thinks. "She might be with dad doing grown up stuff." He declares as Sakura tilts her head. "Oh? Like what?" She asks. "I don't know, maybe play a game? Usually when they want to do grown up stuff, they send me over to Pervy Grandpa." Naruto declares as Sakura laughs. "You know, he's not really that old. He's the same age as Lady Tsunade!" Sakura mentions as Naruto grins. "Oh yeah! Fourth Hokage!"

Naruto and Sakura hold hands as they then run off into the restaurant of Ichiraku, where it was bustling with a lot of excitement, and the one managing the place was none other than Narugisa Haruno Uzumaki. "Wait for your ramen ya know!" She shouts as she flings a strand of her blonde hair back, before catching the familiar colors of her son and niece. "Naruto my baby! And Sakura my beloved niece! Come on in!" Naruto giggles as he then hugs her leg, before she picks him up into a motherly embrace. "How are you two?" She asks as she pats Sakura.

"We're good, Auntie. Naruto and I are taking a break from playing." Sakura states, as Narugisa turns to Naruto. "Is that so, my chubby chimp?" She asks, as Naruto giggles. "Yes, mommy monkey!" Sakura smiles as she then runs to the kitchen to see all the ramen being intensively made. "Wow!" After Naruto and her indulge into a bowl, the two then run out to play some more, while having Narugisa follow them from behind.
