This is a story about two good friends who shared the same dream
But this is no fairy tale and it's not at all what it seem
There's a guy named George and his good friend lennie who's dream was to by their own piece of land
And everything was fine until shit hit the fan
But let's not get ahead of ourselves we shall begin at the start
The tale the story of two men with broken hearts
George is small but tough and knows how to work
before he promised lennie's aunt he's take care of him he was a jerk
Lennie isn't the brightest color in the crayon box and George knew
But after a while their bond together grew
George and lennie were looking for work seeing as they were fired from there last job
Lennie touched a woman's dress to feel it and when she screamed he freaked out with a sob
Like a scared child, he clenched onto her dress leaving a tear
As she ran off screaming from lennie giving her a scare
She told the other working men that she'd been raped
So George grabbed lennie and they ran to escape
Off the went to find a new ranch to start a new
They walked and walked the road because that was all there was to do
Until they reached the opening of the ranch began
There entering the entrance is where they met a new friend
His name was candy and he was old as dust
He had one old dog and an hand that was a bust
He showed George and lennie to the boss and they both were hired on the spot
They gathered in the bunk room with the other men with one good old lamp to light the room with it's watt
When everyone met lennie they thought him nuts
Then they put him to work and saw his guts
single handed, he did work thay would take two men to work
Whenever he saw the reaction of others watching lennie George would always give a smirk
Later that day they meet a guy named curley whos the bosses son and always picked a fight
But that night they also met him wife who was a beautiful sight
Porsolin skin, red nails, and a beautiful white smile
Lennie could do nothing but stare as his heart went for miles
George told lennie to not talk to her she's nothing but a tart
Lennie listened to him and played the part
The next day they meet curley again and curley doesn't like how big lennie is so he tries to show him who's "the man"
After taking many punches to the face from curley, lennie grabbed onto his hand
Scared and hurt he held on tight
Crushinging his hand into mush and bone leaving an unpleasant sight
They lied and said his hand was caught in a machine so they wouldn't be kicked out
Curley left with his hand squashed and with a shout
While he gets his hand fixed lennie goes and talks to a hunched back named crooks
He was a money negro who had nothing but his books
Crooks tried and tried to push lennie out with his words but he didn't listen well
So he told him to come in and stay since it was wasn't working as he could tell
They talked about why crooks was alone and separated but lennie of course didn't understand
To crooks it's like lennie's brain was as small as a grain of sand
Soon George came back and took lennie away
And they all went to sleep after such a long day
But they next day will be even longer then that
Because the next morning lennie finds the puppy he was given dead in the barn on the ground laying flat
Afraid they George would be mad and won't let him tend the rabbits on the land they plan to buy
So he tried to hide it before anyone can ask how or why
But before he can get away with his act
The tart sneaks up on j from behind his back
He tried to avoid her but she says she just wants to talk
All the other workers are having a horse shoe game so to the barn she went to walk
Her and lennie talk about her hopes and dreams and how she feels alone
She speaks to him with a soft kind and loving tone
Lennie tells her how he loves touching things that are soft and she laughs and agrees
Moving closer she stands up straight on her knees
She let's him feel her soft air and he loves it's touch
But she starts to feel he loves it too much
She feels him messing it up and ask him to stop raising her voice and changing her tone
He covers her mouth scared george will hear they are talking and soon her life was gone
Scared and afraid he left her in the barn and took off taking of the men's gun
Candy soon goes in to find lennie and get out the sun
He finds her dead and tells george what he knew
Once curley and everyone else found out his anger grew
His mashed hand now his wife
Curley went for his shotgun and was ready to take lennie's life
They road out in search for him but george went a different way because he told lennie if anything bad happens to meet him in a certain place the other day
And there he was scared and lost waiting to be found
When george got there the other guys weren't around
He took the fun from lennie and they spoke about what they had dreamed
As they did george stood behind lennie at his head the barrel was beamed
Lennie smiling and ranting on about their dream he never knew
That right behind him a bullet flew
George took lennie's life to save him from the rest
It was either torture and rot in prison or let curley leave a bloody mess
Knowing this even though it hurt him so
He know that one of the mice had to go..
