*Ryan's Point of View*

Since we ran, we got there and had eight minutes to spare. Everybody was just walking around and talking to friends on the front lawn. When we passed the Jocks they all stopped talking and stared at her. I noticed that Alex, the most popular guy in school, was staring at her butt. Anger surged through me, but I knew I couldn't bash his face in, especially on the first day. I stepped closer to her and narrowed my eyes at him. I also knew that Ashely has had a crush on Alex years. I warned her to get away from him, telling her he was the school player. Which was true, but only half the reason why I wanted her away from him. He did a cat call at her. She blushed and giggled. I wanted to kill him. I put my arm around her and kept walking. She glared at me. I knew what she was thinking. We got our schedules right as the bell rang. We both had English first period. She handed me hers and I saw that we had mostly the same classes. We grinned at each other. We hurried to English and sat next to each other. When she wasn't looking, I stared at her. God she is beautiful. I've always fantasized about us. About how she was going to become my girlfriend, and how we would get married... But something interrupted my train of thought. Alex. He sat down next to her. I tensed up. "Hey Ashley." He said and winked. "Hey." She giggled. I scooted to the edge of my seat, closer to her. I was NOT going to let him hurt her. "I was just wondering if you were free this Friday. Figured I could take you to the movies." He said looking her up and down, lingering on a few of her "areas". She blushed. "I was going to hang out with Ryan," Yes! "But I could definitely go on a date. We didn't have anything special planned." Dang it. "Alright, it's a date. I'll pick you up at seven." He winked again, got up, and left to sit with his buddies. Ashley turned to me. "Oh my God Ryan he asked me out." She said, her eyes wide. "Yeah he did." I growled and mentally killed him in my mind over and over. "What's wrong?" She asked looking concerned. "Nothing." I said and smiled. "Oh come on, I know you better than that." The teacher walked in. "You're telling me later." She said to me, and the lesson began.
