"Let's have some tea first. It's done brewing." Nio poured out some tea into each of our cups using a silver ladle. I took a sip.
"Whoa." I felt something rise up inside my body. I checked my status.

"That's an amazing heal pot! It just brought my health to over 50% with a single sip!" The HP count went by one as I spoke. "And I'm still healing! This buff is amazing!"
"What buff did you get? My mana's regening like crazy. I'm now two-thirds full and still going." Dias was glowing with excitement. "I'm also Enlightened."
"I think I got a speed buff." Melly looked a lot better. Nio was sewing her cloak with a strange black string that seemed to come from nowhere.
"You guys are lucky. This tea gives random buffs along with the health and mana. I tend to get Naturalized..."
"Why don't you sell these in the marketplace? You'd probably get loads of gold." Melly was gulping down her tea. I couldn't blame her - the tea was really tasty.
"There are... circumstances." He looked away slightly.
"Like those related to your traits?" Dias hasn't forgotten.
"Well, my traits are a bit eccentric," He scratched his head. "I've got [Alchemy] [Throw] [Eagle Eye] [Enchant] [Archery] [Crafting] [Mixing] [Mana Control] -"
"WHY, NIO. WHY." Dias was now standing from her chair. "WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS."
"Because I'm not you, and wanted to live my life to enjoy it. I'm having fun, you know."
Another rustle of bushes stole our attention. A brown wolf came out from the other side of the clearing and bounded towards us. My hand rushed to my sword, and Dias was pointing her staff at it.
"Hi, Bear!" We both stared blankly at Nio as he waved at the wolf energetically. The wolf bounded at him and began slobbering all over him, Nio ruffling its fur. The wolf was big enough from him to ride on, or eat him, but it seemed almost like my dog Bandit in real life.
"Nio, what-" Melly was about to start, but Nio cut her off.
"Don't worry about it. Bear, I'm a little busy right now."
The wolf whined.
"I know, I know. I'll play with you a little, but after that you have to wait after that, okay?"
Bark!
"Good. Here we go, <Water Ball>!" He pointed above himself and a ball of magical water formed and rotated. The wolf, looking up at it, sat down. He flicked his hand, and the water ball shot forward, followed closely by the wolf. As he twisted his wrist and pointed this way and that, the water ball followed his movement. The dog twirled and leaped, trying to catch the ball but missing by mere inches.
We were in awe. Game logic would state that it's more important to focus on mana concentration for maximum damage. But here we have a guy literally playing with magic, with amazing control and precision. Doing the complete opposite of what others would advise. "Nio, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Playing." Chomp! "Nevermind." The wolf had swallowed the ball in midair. It left soon after.
"Uh." Dialsia finally lowered her staff.
"So that's me," concluded Nio. "How about you guys?"
"We've been training our stats. And lots of stuff have happened in the first town." I started.
