Hi everyone! It's me, Eoin! I'm the familiar of guardian Nio. I like him since he freed me from that Loeta's crazy curse. It wasn't fun forgetting everything repeatedly. One moment I knew who I was talking to, the next moment I find myself staring at them as if I didn't know them. Like, I remember them vaguely, but the name just doesn't come back to me. It sucks, and I just had to awkwardly re-introduce myself.
Anyways, I've been taking care of the house since Nio isn't here. I wonder where he went. The last thing I remember was a flash of bright light, Nio surrounding me in wood, and him telling me that he "was going to talk to Loeta." He hasn't come back since then, but I trust he'll be back soon. It's only been an hour, so I guess Loeta is just chatting with him. They do that, probably discussing forest affairs and whatever. I don't really like going in since I'm scared Loeta might curse me again. The animals have been bringing in herbs, so I've also been putting those in the chest while passing out appropriate payments. I watched Nio do it a lot, so I know who wants what. Lily likes poisons, which is normal. Bear and Echelon like Healing Tonic, which is enhanced water or something. Slyne also likes poison, but he hasn't come around yet. I guess it's because Nio has be to be here to extract his snake venom, since he has no hands or feet to use and do it himself. Invaders haven't really visited either. Is there something going on outside? I don't know, I never left Ilidas before.
. . .
Okay, it's been a long time, and Nio hasn't been back. Did Loeta send him off somewhere? Maybe I should check on them. It's not like it's lonely here without him. Not at all. Nope. It's just... not right. Yeah, that's it. Not right. Yeah, I'm gonna go check on them. Let's go. Huh?
I feel... sleepy. But it's only twilight hours! What did Nio call it, 6 clock? Anyways I shouldn't be tired! I'm... never... tired... ...
. . .
... What... who is it... what's going on... Huh? Why is it morning? I could've sworn it was evening just moments ago. Now what was I doing again? Hmm... I need to tell Nio that were running out of Tonic... Oh! That's right! I need to find Nio, so I was heading to Loeta! Fly, Eoin, fly!
Hmm? It feels like Nio... left or something. It's like that "log out" feeling. Did he leave? Eh, I'll just ask. "Loeta!" I yelled as I reached the sacred grove.
Loeta looked up at me from her scroll. "Oh, Eoin. It's been awhile since you visited."
"Yeah, I guess." I shook my head. "Wait, you're distracting me with new topics. Where's Nio? Did you send him off to do something for you?"
She looked askance. "Well..."
"Loeta, what did you do?"
"Well, see, Nio was planning on taking a quick trip outside because someone broke his cauldron-"
That makes sense. I couldn't find that either.
"So he went to the boundary of Ilidas. But then something happened. Do you remember Tarantella?"
"No. I don't remember anything before Nio's appearance because of you." Stupid curse.
"Oh, oopsie. Well, Tarantella is the Spider Lord of the west sector. He doesn't like Nio, but since he can't attack Nio directly, he went to vent his anger on Illios, the town outside Ilidas."
"Did he get mad because you promised him guardianship but then gave it to Nio instead?"
"I thought you said you don't remember anything."
"I don't. It just sounds like something you would do."
Loeta gave me an evil look. "Maybe I should curse you to never speak your mind."
"Heee!" I backed away quickly, ready to escape the moment she raised her hand.
Loeta sighed. "Or, at least, I would do that, but I can't since Nio is your master now. I need his permission." Really?! Then I don't need to fear her? "But even if I can't curse you, I can still dish out a little divine punishment, if I think I should." Never mind, still scared.
"Anyways, Nio just left Ilidas-"
"WHAT?!" I screamed.
"Yep." She nonchalantly inspected her nails.
"I wanna stay with him - I mean, as his familiar I should stay with him!" Suddenly I remembered. Who will take care of the house now that both Nio and I are gone?
Loeta smiled. "Then go. You have permission to follow him."
"But the house-"
"I'll take care of it."
"Really?"
"Yes." Her smile seems a little suspicious, but maybe it's because I don't really like her much anyways.
"Ok! Thank you!" I flitted out of the grove as fast as I could. "Bear, Echelon, Lily, Slyne, I'm going to join Nio now. We'll be back soon, but for now, Loeta will take care of the house." I screamed as I passed the house. I passed Bear, and he looked scared. I don't remember much of Loeta's nature, but as a guardian she's probably responsible, right?
I wove through the forest and shot towards the walled place outside the forest. "I'm coming, Nio!" I yelled gleefully.
Back to my master's side, where I rightfully belong.
