But I never knew that Ashton would be trouble.

His words caused shivers to run up my spine like two small children racing up the stairs. I couldn’t get his hushed whispers out of my thoughts. They were almost seductive.

“Where’s the damn pancake mix!” Michael groaned while opening and closing each tiny cabinet. Ashton was busy getting the bowl and spoons or what not.

“Should I go get them?” I thought out loud, wanting to know if they wanted to help or even have some.

“Don’t think that would be smart, they're either yelling or hitting each other.” Michael shrugged, like it was no big deal.

“They fight each other?”

“All the time,” Ashton stated the ‘obvious’, “Your brothers the real hulk.” I frowned. Calum seemed nice. But, Luke looked emotionally stable also, and I was wrong about that too.

“Oh.”

“Stop!” I giggled as Ashton blew pancake mix in my face because I cracked an egg over his head. Michael couldn’t stop laughing so I poured milk on his hair. As it trickled down his face he drank it and Ashton and I made gagging noise.

“What happened!” a wide-eyed Calum breathlessly inquired with eyebrows pulled up to his hairline. Luke stood next to him, arms crossed, biting his lip. I never would have thought my umbrella was attractive, let alone sexy…

“This is worse than last time,” Luke eyed the milk and powder on the floor, then up to Ashton’s hair.

“She started it!” Ashton teased. He came up behind me, wrapped his arms around my waist, and rested his head on my shoulder. I didn’t think this is what friends did, but I wouldn’t know. I’ve never had any friends.

“You guys are never cooking or cleaning ever again. You’re like five,” Calum scolded.

“Wait, cleaning?”

“Yes, Ashton and Michael had a Kleenex fight, and Luke walked into it, and had to go to the freaking emergency room.” Ashton shook with laughter behind me and I high-fived Michael.

“Were you okay?” I asked Luke. He just glared at me, and walked away. Ashton got off me but wiped his hair out of his face.

“Its only 11” Ashton groaned. I frowned, the Luke I shared secrets and icecream with not less than 24 hours ago, seemed to be gone; replaced by an annoyed, confusing, and moody umbrella.

But he wasn’t a broken umbrella. And he never will be.
