Rocky shut his car door with his hip, as he juggled a stack of DVD's. He hopped up Emily's porch steps, and rang her doorbell with a finger, trying not to drop the movies in his hands.
Emily's head popped through a crack in the doorway. A smile formed on her face at the sight of Rocky.
"Hey," Rocky smiled peeking through the crack in the door.
Emily opened the door all the way, "What 'cha got there?" she asked signaling to the stack in his hands.
"Movies..for you and me," he smirked.
"Come on in," she siggled, shutting the door behind him.
"I didn't know you wore glasses," Rocky stated setting the movies on a coffee table, which was located in front of her sofa.
"Oh," she smiled pushing her glasses farther up her nose. "Yeah...I usually wear contacts, but I wear these at home."
"They're cute," Rocky smiled cheekily, staring up at her wide framed lenses.
"I brough a bunch of horror movies," Rocky said, slouching down on the couch.
"Cool! I love scary movies!" Emily excalimed excitedly.
"Good...'cause I do too."
Emily hopped on the couch next to Rocky.
"Which one do you wanna' watch first?" Rocky asked her, spreading the selections across the table.
"Let's watch this one," she suggested, pointing at one of the DVD's.
Rocky popped it into her DVD player, then sat back down next to her. The movie started off kinda slow, but when a scary part came up Emily jumped in her seat.
Rocky chuckled, "Are you alright?"
"I'm fi-AHHH!"
Instinctively Emily curled up next to Rocky, nuzzling her head into his chest. He looked down at her, a smile playing on his face. He wrapped his arm around her, and pulled her in closer.
"I like this," Rocky smiled.
"Watching me get scared?" she asked.
"No, protecting you." he added seriously.
Emily looked up at him, eyes sparkling.
"I'll always protect you Emily."
They were no longer watching the movie, but instead gazing into each other's eyes. Rocky held her slim face in his calloused hands. HIs thumb ran across her cheekbones, their eyes never leaving each other's sight. Emily looked down at her feet.
"What's wrong?" Rocky frowned.
He moved his hand away from her face, so she could talk.
She looked back up at him, "It's just that...you care so much."
"What's wrong with that?" he smiled.
"I sound rediculous," she laughed.
"No you don't. Come on tell me," Rocky insisted.
"No one has ever really cared that much," she shrugged. "They come and go. And they usually find someone better."
Rocky's heart sank, "Well they don't know what they're missing."
A faint blush appeared on Emily's cheeks. "Thanks Rocky," she smiled.
The two of them spent the rest of the night cuddled up on the sofa, watching the stack of horror films. When Rocky looked down to find Emily passed out, he carried her up to her room and tucker her into her bed. He pressed a soft kiss to her forehead and whispered, "Sweet dreams." before leaving.
