Rocky and Emily had spent another whole day at the beach together. They were now laying in the sand. Emily sat in front of Rocky, with his arms wrapped around her, as they both gazed up at the sunset.
"You better not say some cheesy line," Emily joked.
"Fine," Rocky laughed. "But I think it's time for me to explain everything."
"Oh yeah...that. You know I don't really care anymore."
"Well I do, I don't want you thinking that I would ever cheat on you."
"Rocky, I know you wouldn't-"
"Babe, please let me talk."
Emily shut her mouth and nodded.
"I didn't let you in my house that day 'cuz we were planning your party. And I had to drive you back before, 'cuz I got a call that our flight got messed up; and I had to fix it right away. And the shopping with Emma thing? That's 'cuz I needed a girl's opinion so I could get you this."
Rocky stood up and grabbed a small box out of his backpack. Then he sat back down and opened it.
"A necklace?" Emily asked in awe.
It was in the shape of a key. Rocky took it out of the box, and put it around her neck. She took another look at it, and saw that there was writing engraved. It said...
"I promise?" she asked.
Rocky nodded, "Do you like it?"
"I love it Rocky...thank you."
"Oh, speaking of promises, I have something else for you."
He got up and took something out of his backpack again.
"My ring," she smiled.
Rocky slipped it back on her finger.
"Someday I'll make a real promise." Rocky assured her.
And, Emily knew exactly what that meant.
