Three years later...

Rocky and Emily were sitting on a dock, which lead to a small lake. She was helping Rocky come up with lyrics for a new song. He seemed really nervous for some reason she wasn't sure of. Rocky sang back the lyrics they came up with, while strumming his guitar.

"Now for the chorus," she sighed, as she looked down at the lake.

"How 'bout...will you marry me?"

Emily's heart skipped a beat, and she was afraid to look up; but she did anyway.

And there he was, holding a small box open, with a diamond ring.

"How'd you get that out so fast?" she smiled.

Rocky laughed, "Oh that's what you're concerned about?"

She giggled.

"So? Will you marry me?" Rocky asked.

"Yes," she smiled as she began to tear up.

Rocky slipped the ring on her finger. She went in for a hug, but before she could, Rocky pushed her into the lake.

"Rocky!" she screamed, as she popped her head out.

Rocky sat on the dock cracking up. Then Emily swam up to him, took his hand, and pulled him in. They stayed in the lake laughing and splashing each other.

"Did you know how cold this water was when you pushed me in?" she teased.

"No, but I do now," Rocky smiled. "So let me warm you up."

Rocky leaned in and crashed his lips to hers, and Emily smiled as they touched. She wrapped her arms around his neck, grabbing his dripping wet hair from the back of his head, as their lips moved in sync. Rocky's hands had found themselves comfortably situated around her waist, where they squeezed tight. When they parted, Rocky helped her out and they sat on the dock the rest of the night. Rocky played songs on his guitar, as Emily leaned her head on his shoulder. She thought about what her new life would be like, married to Rocky. She looked down at her ring and saw writing engraved in it, just like her promise ring. It said-

"I promise," she smiled.

"I was waiting 'till you would notice," he said.

"I love it Rocky."

"I hoped you would," he grinned.

"You really like engraving writing on stuff," she teased.

Rocky shrugged, "Just the stuff I give you.

"You're so cliche," she laughed, as she gave him a playful shove.

"Heyyy," he laughed with her.

"I love you Rocky,"  She said as she planted a kiss on his cheek.

"I love you too...now back to the song!"
