Heartbreaker

Chapter 10

Emily sat up in her bed all night, smiling at the picture of Rocky and her. She felt her stomach do backflips every time she recalled a detail from that night. And she fell asleep looking at the stars again from her window. 

"I'm on my way to pick you up :)," Rocky texted her after she had thrown on a casual dress and some make-up for dinner at the Lynch household. 

"Lol, you don't have to drive back and forth. I can drive myself there," she replied. 

"Well I'm coming anyway."

In about 10 minutes, Emily heard her doorbell ring. She rushed over to the door, straightened her dress, then opened it. 

"Wow," Rocky raised his eyesbrow. "You look...beautiful!" 

"Thanks," Emily smiled. "But are you saying I don't look like that everyday?"she joked. 

"No...I mean YOU DO! But-"

"I'm kidding!" she giggled. 

When they got to the Lynch hou Rocky ran around her side and opened her door for her, as usual. 

"Ready?" Rocky asked her as he hold out his hand. 

Emily nodded as she interlocked her fingers into his. Stormie turned around excitedly as Rocky shut the door behind them. 

"You must be Emily!" Stormie smiled as she walked up to give Emily a hug. "It's so nice to meet you!" 

"Aww, you too," Emily repled as Stormie gave her a hug. 

"Hey Emily," Ross casually greeted her as he popped a chip into his mouth. 

"Hiiii!" Rydel excitedly greeted Emily, and pulled her into an embrace. 

"Hey Delly!" Emily grinned. 

"It's time for dinner!" Stormie yelled throughout the house. 

Riker and Ryland popped out of their rooms, and made their way to the dining room. 

"Oh hey Emily!" Riker smiled as he look a seat. 

Mark sat down, and greeted Emily as well; then Rocky took a seat next to her. 

"It's nice to finally have another girl in the house," Stormie joked, "The rest of the boys never bring any home." 

Emily giggled, then took a bite of her food. 

"You just wait mom," Ross laughed. 

As Emily was about to take another bite of her food, she felt a hand on her thigh. She glared up at Rocky to find a smirk playing on his face. She rolled her eyes, and continued eating. 

"Thank you for the yummy dinner," Emily thanked Stormie and Mark, when everyone was finished. 

"Oh you're welcome," Stormie smiled. 

"Emily?" Rocky asked her, brushing against her shoulder. "Come outside I have something for you." He took her hand and lead her outside. 

Rocky pulled a shiny silver box out of his pocket, "Before you freak out! It's not a wedding right," he laughed. 

"Oh thank goodness!" she sighed. 

He opened the box revealing a beautiful emerald green ring. 

"It's a promise ring," he said removing it from the box. "So you know how serious I am about you." 

"It's beautiful," Emily smiled in awe. 

Rocky lifted Emily hand, and placed the ring on her finger. 

"What's this?" she asked looking at the writing engraved on the ring. 

"Oh that?" Rocky blushed. "It says R+E" 

"Awww Rocky I love it!" Emily grined, throwing herself into his arms. 

He gladly accepted her, and wrapped his strong arms around her. 

"I love you Rocky," she whispered. 

"What?" he smiled, backing away so he could look into her eyes. 

"You heard me," she giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck again. 

"I love you too Emily," he sighed. 

"I swear if you ever leave me, I'm gonna' punch you." 

Rocky shot back in laughter. "Don't worry...I'm not going anywhere." 

Then he crashed his lips to hers, far more passionately than last time. He wanted to show her how much he loved her back. His fingers tangled in her hair as their lips moved in sync. She didn't want to keep it going for too long though, she just wanted to take things slow. After they parted EMily said bye to all of Rocky's family, then he took her back home. 

"So what are you doing tomorrow?" Rocky asked on the drive. 

"Ugh...school." she sighed. 

"Want me to pick you up after?" Rocky asked. 

"Emily smiled, "You're really sweet Rocky. But you don't have to dedicate your life to me." 

"What do you mean? You're my life now." 

Emily blushed as they pulled up to her apartment. 

"I didn't get an answer!" Rocky yelled out to her as she exited the car. 

"Okay, sure!" she yelled back. 

Rocky nodded, then drove off.
