Heartbreaker

Chapter 17

Emily laid in bed crying all night. She finally found someone that could actually stand her, and now he was gone. And, she could add Rocky to her list of heartbreakers. As if things couldn't get worse, this all happened two days before her birthday. 

"I'm sorry bro," Ross frowned after Rocky told him the news. "Maybe she needs some time to calm down, and you can tell her what happened tomorrow." 

"Yeah," Rocky sighed, "Thanks bro. I just hope she'll take me back." 

"Don't worry, how could anyone resist that," Ross teased, as he gestured toward Rocky's body. 

"I know!" Rocky laughed. 

"I'm gonna' go talk to her," Rydel said from the kitchen. "She's been hurt before Rocky. She's broken, and she needs someone she can trust. If I was her I would think you were cheating too," she shrugged. 

"What?! I still don't know why either of you would think that," Rocky frowned. 

"Well...you were showing major signs. Plus she thought the way you met was special. But that's how you and Emma met," Rydel explained. 

"She's got a point," Ross added. 

"Well while you go talk to her, I'm gonna' be out too. You know...to-"

"Okay," said Rydel. 

Then they split up, and headed to their destinations. 

Emily's doorbell rang, and she peeked through the looking hole to make sure it wasn't Rocky. She had no intention of talking to him. 

"Hey Rydel," she greeted her as she popped the door open, "Come on in." 

"So what's up?" Emily asked as she plopped onto the couch; and gestured for Rydel to sit next to her.

"I came to talk to you."

"Oh," Emily sighed. 

"I heard what happened," she frowned, "And I'm really sorry." 

Emily shook her head, "You don't have to be sorry. You didn't even do anything."

"Neither did Rocky," she whispered. "He's not cheating on you. And you're one of my best friends, so I would never lie to you." 

"Then why'd he blow me off muliptle times? And lie to me about being out with Emma?" Emily asked shakily, on the verge of tears again. 

"That's for Rocky to tell you." 

"I'm not quite ready to talk to him yet," she frowned. 

"Well, when you are, just hit him up," Rydel smiled encouragingly. 

Emily took a deep breath, "Okay," she nodded.
