Photo: Alec's island (Bed room)
*******************************************
The past few days have been nothing but pure bliss. The island is still as beautiful as I remember it being. The dense areas of trees and crystal clear water make this place seem too perfect to be true.Of course, this whole trip seems too good to be true. After all, I'm stuck on an island with the love of my life. Well, I'm not stuck on the island, there's a motor boat that is used to get to and from the mainland. That's a minor technicality.
To be honest (or TBH, as it is said on social media nowadays) Katerina and I have been pretty lazy so far in this trip. I think that the both of us were overloaded more than we realized. We've been lounging around the house watching movies and such for hours on end and it felt fantastic.
Right now, Katerina is outside taking a swim. I stood by the back door, watching her run up and down the beach adding sea shells to her collection. She lined up her shells on the railing to the deck before running back into the water. For a moment, all I could do was stand there and admire her beauty. Her long red hair was twisted into two braids that reached down to the middle of her waist, which was bare since all she had on was a black bikini. Although it was more modest then some of them were in this day and age...
"It's a different time now Aleczander..." I thought to myself. "You have to adapt."
Of course I have to adapt to how things are now. I have been living under a rock for a while now, and ever since we started the Morgynstein case, we have had to use new technology to try to figure out certain things. I didn't even know what a flash drive was when Lorne first handed it to me. I smiled to myself about the memory of that day. I wonder, if we never had gotten that flash drive from King Alucard, how different would things be now? Would we have gotten anywhere close to stopping Michael Morgynstein? Would Katerina know that she specialized in all the elements? Would I have figured out what happened between Aro and Jane? Or worse. Could I have figured out how probable it was that Aro killed Didyme...
The sharp ringing of my cellular phone stopped my thoughts from traveling any farther than that, which was probably for the best. I walked away from the glass door and over to the brown marble counter where my phone sat. I looked at the caller ID to see that it was Felix who was trying to call me. This can't be good. I looked back to make sure Katerina was still occupied with her shell searching, which she was, and picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey Alec...are you alone right now? As in very far away from Kit Kat where she can't hear you?"
"Felix, what's wrong?"
"Just answer my question." I gave Katerina one last glance before walking into the bedroom on the opposite side of the house.
"I am now, but what happened? Is everyone okay? Did Michael figure out we were gone?"
"Woah buddy, everyone's fine. But um...I have some rather disturbing news that you should know about...it's about Kat..."
"Felix you are starting to scare me..."
"I'm sorry...but I'm a little bit scared right now too. And I mean this may not be a bad thing..."
"What does this have to do with Katerina?"
"Nothing bad, well, it may be bad, I don't know. I'm just not sure how to tell you this."
