TW: abuse

Adjusting to life as a captive wasn't something Taehyung ever planned on doing, but it seemed to be just what he was doing as the days went on. He figured three days had passed since his disappearance from his home, his boyfriend would be home in two. What would happen then? Would he call the police? Or would he simply continue on with his life because this is just what he was used to. Taehyung was never the kind of person to stay in one place. His boyfriend helped him settle down in a home, but he was hardly ever there. It felt wrong to stay somewhere for too long when there was so much more he could be doing in the world.

These boys who gathered around him at a campfire, all singing and playing raucous games, they understood that. They understood the uncertainty of a world that was always changing, and despite not travelling the world, they lived in an ever-changing place where nothing looking the same twice. These boys, dangerous and wild, understood his mindset more than anyone he'd ever met in his own civilisation.

"What has got you so deep in thought, Tae?" Asked a sweet voice by his side. Only then did Taehyung notice the young boy sitting crisscrossed beside him, bright midnight eyes watching him intently.

"Nothing," he replied, for it was true, his thoughts meant nothing to Kook. It took a moment for him to realise that Kook knew his name, his stomach tightened as he locked eyes with Jimin sitting furthest from him.

"You look pretty when you think. So thoughtful and kind," Kook continued, not bothered by his anxiety. He leaned forward, fingers tracing the heel of Taehyung's shoe as he studied each feature on his face. "I have never seen someone like you before." Taehyung wouldn't look at him. He was ashamed, or embarrassed. But even more so he was angry. Angry that he showed not an ounce of empathy as he spoke.

"That's kind of you to say but I think..." he couldn't finish, words caught in his throat. He stared up at the canopied ceiling of the forest, hoping somehow it might swallow him whole.

"Look at me," Kook whispered delicately, being gentle whilst sitting his hands on Taehyung's arm. The hairs beneath his fingers rise in fear.

„No." Taehyung whispered back, squeezing his eyes shut when he noticed the rest of the boy's staring at him. His body stiffened when a low growl erupted from Kook's throat, and nails began to dig into his skin.

„I said LOOK AT ME!" It was as if Taehyung was possessed, for his head immediately snapped to stare into Kook's shadowed eyes and furious expression. There was an ache in his chest, that almost psychotic stare fixed on him, yet that was the least of his worries. „Thank you," Kook cheered, clapping his hands together excitedly as he retracted his nails from Taehyung's skin. His expression and tone had softened within seconds of getting what he wanted. Taehyung knew he was in deep shit.

„Kook! We've got your dinner prepared." Seokjin called from beyond the trees. The call of his name had Kook leaping to his feet, eyes filled with excitement at the mere mention of food.

„Oh! Goodie. I will be back soon, stay safe." With a peck to Taehyung's cheek, he skipped away, following Seokjin into the forest to have his meal. The kiss felt strange against his cheek, his lips were cold, but soft. The act had left Taehyung in a moment of utter stupor, staring at the place where the boy was long gone as he touched his cheek.

„You might want to get used to him doing that." Namjoon said, as he broke his focus from the now silent trees.

„Why is that?" Taehyung asked, a slight pitch to his tone from noticeable tension. Namjoon rolled his eyes and scoffed, responding simply,
