TW: cutting

Kook turned with the gun now hung limply by his side, and Taehyung swore his eyes were much darker than they'd ever been. He was certain. For they were now a completely different colour, a dark, evil shade of red.

„Kook, what are ... Your eyes..." At the mention of them, they cleared. They returned to a dark midnight, just like they'd always been. Kook got up from the cell, stepping over the body he'd previously conversed with, wiping his hands on his shirt so that they weren't so messy, giving a gentle smile. That faded as he saw Taehyung's distraught expression. With the weapon still carelessly held, Kook stepped closer to Taehyung who backed up against the wall as soon as the murderer stepped closer.

„Why are you always so scared of me?" Taehyung didn't answer. He couldn't answer. His words were caught up in his throat as he tried to swallow down the urge to scream or cry. „Hey, are you okay? You are quite pale." Taehyung shook his head, bemused as to why the boy sounded so earnest in his words. When Kook knelt down beside him, finally letting the gun free from his grasp, he released a slow breath. He let the boy rest his fingers lightly on his cheek, rubbing soothingly as a comfort.

„I just saw you," he swallowed heavily, „kill someone." Kook nodded, face scrunched up as if he was confused.

„And?" He leant forward, placing a soft kiss on Taehyung's cold cheek. Heated rushed to his cheeks, unsure if he was embarrassed or whether it was something more. But he couldn't be feeling like this towards a boy such as the one now sitting in his lap. A similar position to the one he'd found the boy in with Yugyeom.

„It's a crime, everywhere. People go to prison for doing this." Kook nodded in understanding, he looked bothered by the information. Yet it seemed to be news to him, like he'd never heard such a thing before. „You didn't know that?" He shook his head, slowly at first, then more confidently.

„No. Why is it bad?" Taehyung almost wanted to roll his eyes, but knew that he'd only create trouble.

„Because everyone's life is worth something. So to take another's away is an inhumane act. Therefore it has consequences." Kook laughed, and Taehyung knew that none of the information went through. It simply went straight over his head.

„Stupid rule I say. Yugyeom was stupid, mean also. No one would miss him." Taehyung's fingers twitched as he felt the urge to strangle the boy, instead forcing a smile. It came out awkward and pained. „Are you okay?" Kook asked at the expression, fingers tracing his arms until they gripped his wrists tightly.

„Ow! Kook, my wrist." He looked down, twisting the limb so that he was staring down at his forearm, eyeing off the clear skin.

„Do you trust me, Taehyung? If you were in danger would you trust me to save you?" The aura around him changed with a suddenness that sent chills down Taehyung's spine, causing him to arch his back slightly. He couldn't meet the boy's eyes with fear that he'd see that same abnormal colour again. Instead he gripped Kook's arm tight, eye's fluttering shut at a sudden pain up his arm.

„Kook, what are you doing?" He couldn't bear to look down, feeling the pressure against his skin as he felt blood trickling through his fingertips. Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes and his breath was shallow with panic.

„Shh... It is okay." Kook cooed, pressing his lips softly against the base of Taehyung's ear. It was soothing, and it was obvious Kook knew this. Because he smirked, breathing hot air against the surface.

„Why do you toy with me?" Taehyung breathed out, looking down briefly to see a thin cut across his wrist, made by a spear sitting by Kook's side. However he couldn't help but feel a even just a little grateful when he noticed Kook began to gently tend to his wound.
